Stampers Can Be Great, But They're Not For Everyone

by KMINER KMINER is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Kids & Family, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Jul 14 '00
Pros: Can be used well for art projects, make beautiful stationary
Cons: Not for every child nor every playing situation
I want to give another perspective of this product in case you are thinking about purchasing the "Stampers". I think, with the right age and ability of the child/children, in a possibly supervised environment, and with good practice...

(trying to think of a catchy title) Uh, STAMP these out?

by JediKermit JediKermit is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Kids & Family, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Mar 03 '01
Pros: Hmmm...probably good for scrapbooking or something froofy.
Cons: Dry out fast, stamping difficult, less imagination-building than regular markers
Crayola's Mini-Stampers are markers whose tips are molded in the shapes of various little cutesy things, so you can use the markers instead of a stamp and ink pad. A great idea, but for someone like me, they're more limiting than they are beneficial....

Picture worth a 1000 words? Stampers barely worth 100!

by Redlass Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jul 12 '00
Pros: Mildly amusing
Cons: Poor pictures, hard to use
If my son could type and spell, he'd write a very different review than the one I'm going to write.

He'd tell you what fun the Crayola mini-stampers are. He'd tell you how he likes to use the markers to put "clues" (in the form of...

Crayola MiniStampers: Brilliant Concept, Flawed Execution

by tjarnold , Feb 12 '01
Pros: Multiple stamp designs, vivid colors, washable
Cons: Don't double as markers, can be difficult even for an adult to stamp recognizably
One visit to a friend’s house, where my three-year-old son had just enough of a taste of his buddy’s MiniStampers to whet his appetite, and I knew these were an inevitable purchase. Not more than a few days later, cruising through the grocery...

What is That Blob Anyway?

by forkids Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, May 22 '00
Pros: Can be used as markers because they will be
Cons: Stamped images are very small and end result is blurry
Cruising the Crayola aisle looking for a toy or two to take on our trip to California, I saw the Crayola MiniStampers. Though the package says for ages 5+, surely my four-year-old can handle these? I perused the offerings:

• Fun Shapes...

Designer Had Great Eye Sight & Zero Kids! Crayola Mini Stampers.

by armchair , Jun 18 '01
Pros: They look nice in the packet.
Cons: Difficult for young children to use. Ends deteriorate easily.
Crayola Mini Stampers appear promising in the packet but the reality of practical use is another thing entirely.

Imagine normal felt tipped pens/textas colours. Now, instead of the usual tip on a felt tipped pen,in it's place imagine a small...

MiniStampers Animals, "What is it, mom?"

by eclair20 , Oct 11 '00
Pros: Vivid colors, Crayola folks stand behind their products.
Cons: They don't stamp a picture! Colors bleed easily.
I purchased the Crayola MiniStampers Animals for my daughter when she was about 3. I thought that she had enough dexterity to use these, as she was able to write her name somewhat legibly, color in the lines (sorta) and draw a stick figure. The box...

Not just for the kids...

by tracim , Feb 12 '01
Pros: fun way to add a little pizzazz to notes
Cons: pretty hard for kids to get a good result
Actually, maybe these aren't good for kids at all! My first experience with these markers was when my friend Claire at college got them. Claire should have been a kindergarten teacher. Along with all her other college essentials, she had the coolest art...

Size Does matter!

by Charlene27 , Jul 10 '00
Pros: Bright colors
Cons: blurry if any picture can be seen
My daughter loves anything that allows her to show her artistic side..whether it be on the walls or paper.

We have purchased numerous boxes of crayons, markers and paint sets for her because she is quite the little artist and loves to spend...

These are Mini alright, On Fun!

by gamblinfamily Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Nov 29 '00
Pros: Cute Concept
Cons: Doesn't do what it should, design flaw
My son colors, he draws, he goes through coloring books like water. So I was in the market for something that he did not have. I thought it would be nice to let him try something different. Perhaps the change of pace would be good for him. New colors,...

Stamps that don't work

by CheyenneNY , Jan 05 '01
Pros: was a good idea
Cons: they don't stamp
I've had a couple different experiences with the young people in my life, and these markers. My sister who is 9, and my cousin who is 5 have both had at least a set or two of these "Mini-Stampers" over the last year or year and a half. And...

Crayola Mini Stampers: Fun that Doesn't Last

by Saharra , Oct 10 '00
Pros: relatively inexpensive, might be useful in entertaining a sick or hospitalized child
Cons: limited usefulness, don't hold a child's attention, poor image quality
When I first saw these mini-stampers in the store, I thought my family childcare kids (mostly ages 4-8) would really have fun with them. So, in a rare spurt of impulse-buying, I bought them. But, after watching the kids use them for a couple of days, I...

Crayola Quality Without the Crayola Fun

by livnkarismom , Jan 30 '01
Pros: Washable, Crayola
Cons: Indistinguishable objects
My oldest daughter likes to be creative. Olivia loves having a wide array of crayons, markers, paints, etc. at her disposal. So, of course we wanted to get her a Crayola mini-stampers set on the next special occasion.

The set we purchased...

Really MINI-Stampers

by CHERYL033 , Aug 07 '00
Pros: washable
Cons: indistinguishable from regular markers, stamps aren't clear
My daughter got a box of these mini stampers for her 4th birthday. At first glance I thought they were just markers, but I guess not. The stamps are cute as long as you are very careful how you stamp them. If it's too hard then they look like a dot of...
