Worth buying

by ptrix , Apr 07 '02
Pros: Very portable, cool looks and good sound
Cons: not cheap, kind of slow starting up, earbud headphones are just no good
I have had this MP3 player for about two years now, and I still use it almost everyday. I am a 17 year old kid, and this is the perfect little toy for me. It's small, can fit in my pocket without any problem, and it has a voice recorder and a radio,...

Wait For Better Technology!

by gd134 , Mar 08 '01
Pros: good sound, compact
Cons: 8 character filenames, no win2k support, additional software problems, no clip, battery life
I bought the Nomad 64 because I wanted a compact player that had good sound. However, I did not anticipate that I would have software problems. Plain and simple, the software for the Nomad sucks! The following is a detailed description of a few good...

The MP3 Player for the Patient People

by selfhi5 , Feb 25 '01
Pros: Good storage capacity - Quick charge - Durable case
Cons: Slow parallel interface (needs USB)- The incl. headphones are marginal. Way too pricey.
Summary

I bought myself the Nomad 64 as a present in '00 and have now used it for 6 months. Overall I love it. I use it for working out in the gym and for practicing my ballroom dancing. It's ideal for both. It's small size allows me...

The Nomad: To buy or not to buy.

by m3buff , Feb 01 '01
Pros: Small size, weight and convenience.
Cons: Headphones are not quality
STRENGTHS:
Small size, weight and convenience.

WEAKNESSES:
Headphones are junk - they fall out of your ears unless you are sitting still - not the case in the gym or dancing. I use a set of Sony sport phones.

Software for...

I use this almost daily!

by mexic0 , Dec 21 '00
Pros: Almost weightless, great MP3 sound, great size
Cons: Flimsy compartment covers; freezes when bumped, poor shuffle feature, poor FM reception
I bought this player because I was tired of carrying a bulky cassette player to the gym, and radio reception at the gym isn't too great (plus, I go to the gym in the morning when most radio stations are full of yakking DJs rather than music). I wanted...

This gift keeps on giving and giving

by pritmit , Dec 07 '00
Pros: everything about it is great
Cons: I wished it had better headphones
I got this MP3 player as a gift, but I've since shared it with many people. I like the voice recording option, and I like the way it operates. It is very light, there hasn't been any problems with it thus far. I bought different stereo headphones...

Good Little Player!

by krmidas , Nov 20 '00
Pros: Compact design, great sound quality, sturdy
Cons: Awful FM reception, sometimes finicky media
I've been living with the Nomad 64 for about 6 months now, and am generally quite pleased.

Sound quality is excellent: bitrate of 128 seems to give audio quality better than FM,but not quite CD. I find for most types of music, this sampling...

Hmmm Carry a bunch of CD's or a Nomad

by ibm_erl , Oct 24 '00
Pros: Small
Cons: Must have mp3 format
The main question people are facing when buying new portable music devices is do I want to carry this around. If you think about this a Nomad is definitely going to be your choice. The Nomad MP3 player is a small wallet size device that plays around 64...

Waste of Money

by pgschaefer , Oct 18 '00
Pros: small
Cons: no support
I bought the nomad on features. I found that the thing does not go nearly loud enough. Also there is NO WINDOWS 2000 SUPPORT, not now not ever. this is not the first time creative labs have dumped on their loyal customers!
The latest gadget does not...

NOMAD is by far the Best Deal on the Market

by jkallman , Oct 14 '00
Pros: Just about everything
Cons: "Shuffle" function doesn't randomize really well (track number 1 is always played second, and doesn't go through all tracks without extensive listening)
While looking to buy an mp3 player late last month, I looked over quite a few opinions about the Nomad. Most, if not all of these were positive, but nothing prepared me for the awesome ability of this player.

Let's start with the size, it is...

Human or Machine?

by Andrew_Lim , Oct 07 '00
Pros: Light, easy to use, great sound!
Cons: Expensive, but you get what you pay for.
In the quest for perfection, mankind has over time, created audio devices that are increasingly portable, more feature-packed and less expensive. (well, that’s debatable) The history of audio devices goes back a long way, starting first with the bulky...

Poor Software, Great Features

by dannry , Sep 23 '00
Pros: Design, Voice-Recorder, Radio
Cons: Software, Parallel Port transfer only
I decided to purchase a Nomad64 awhile ago, to keep up with the MP3 revolution. Right out of the box, it was a pain to set up. The software included with the Nomad64 is extremely buggy, and the updates for the web site didn't help much either. It...

Great Easy to Use Product

by vkevrdy4j , Sep 19 '00
Pros: Light, small, great sound, good battery life
Cons: earbuds
I spent two weeks researching mp3 players and right when i was about to purchase the Nomad, somebody beat me to the punch and gave it to me as a gift. I have to say it is one of the best presents I've ever gotten. I use it whenever possible,...

by infocat , Sep 17 '00
Pros: Very Small and a Great Price
Cons: n/a
I love my Nomad player and I doubt I'll ever want to go back to my old portable CD player. All the great things you hear about portable MP3 players are true, they're very small, they don't skip, the sound quality is great, and you can customize your MP3...

Good entry level product

by hbyun , Aug 28 '00
Pros: Best of its class. Small. FM tuner.
Cons: no win2k; tuner okay, software awful
Update: The Nomad software won't run in Windows 2000, and Creative has no intention of updating it. One guy claims that the Nomad's based on the Yepp, and a beta Yepp program will be able to communicate with your Nomad 64 in win2k.
