Pros: Durable, easy to use, great sound and time between battery charges. Cons: Mediocre earphones, oddly designed case, no lossless format support.
I am a huge fan of burning disks on my computer to give me the ability to take my music where I want to go. When you are mowing the lawn, running, or doing one of a million other activities that are lonesome and monotonous and you want to listen to your ...
Pros: Outstanding battery life, inexpensive, value. Cons: Leather case with no access to controls. Only works with Windows
In November of 2005 one of my friends bought the leading mp3 player. He bragged on and on about how he always had his favorite music with him and how it changed the way he listens to music. I decided that I needed something bigger than the 4GB model ...
Pros: Lotsa Memory, Great Sound Quality, Long Battery Life. Cons: Needed an aftermarket case, included one was sub-par. Random button inconvenient.
As many people have pointed out, there are a plenty of MP3 players out there that will give you more storage and sound quality for your $$ than an iPod. This is one of them: use your money wisely! I originally thought about the iPod, mostly because ...
Pros: Battery life, sturdy construction, easy of use Cons: None really - haven't had any problems thus far
When I realized I would be spending an average of 6-8 hours driving in my car over the course of a week, I decided it was time to break down and get an MP3 player so as not to have to continuously change out CDs or scan the radio for working stations in ...
Pros: Battery life, capacity, ergonomics. Cons: Touch pad too sensitive, size.
I bought this product for a few reasons - 1. I didn't want to be a Pod person. 2. I've had good experiences with Creative in the past. 3. I like the battery life. 4. I don't mind the larger size. 5. Easy to put plain data on the unit, to use it as ...
Pros: Battery Life, Price, 40gb - this is huge Cons: touch pad a little sensitive
The following is a review that I completed for the zen touch 20gb player. The two products are exactly the same except for the capacity. 20 vs. 40 gigabites The Creative Zen Touch is the first hard disk Mp3 player that I have purchased. I have been ...
Pros: Excellent sound quality, no software needed. Cons: Has a bit of a learning curve, can't mount on Mac natively.
I'm very much the mp3 player advocate, fan, and collector. While I love my CD-players, turntables, and tape decks, I have quite an obsession with this digital audio players (or DAP). I've used players from Apple, iRiver, Sandisk, Digmind/Xclef, ...
The first 6 months of ownership were reasonably problem free, apart from the touch pad, which you'll either love or hate and the track ordering:- tracks are not always stored in the correct order in the Creative Media Source player (the media ...
Pros: Amazing sound quality. Long battery life. Can play the superior WMA format. Cons: Poor supplied case. Lack of aftermarket accessories. Sensitive 'Touch' strip.
After extensive research I decided to buy a Zen Touch over several other brands including the (over-hyped, in my opinion) Ipod. I've had it for about 8 months and absolutely love it!! This player is built like a tank. It feels solid and the controls ...
Purchase date: December 2005 Review date: March 2006 I had been wanting a mass storage MP3 player for some time, but had been unwilling to commit to one or really do the in depth research I always do before making a purchase of this nature. I ...
Pros: Battery life. Volume of storage. Cons: Price. Software. It just died. Not very good customer support.
Worked great for about a year. Then the software and boot up went weird. Hit the reset button to correct, until it finally just died. Get an ipod instead.
Pros: Sound quality, Bass, loudness, battery life Cons: Music Sorting, CREATIVE (losers)
Pro
Sound quality is one of the best of all players...
It can go almost EXTREMELY loud.
(Don't think your I POD will ever come near this buddy !)
The sound-spectrum is super, VERY low bass and endless high.
Start-up-time is FAST, because of a standby function, in about 1 second it starts. Great battery life. It once felt out of my hands on a hard floor, except for some case damage it survived, thanks to the hardcover casing. (Normally its in a very good protective belt-clip)
Drawbacks:
- The headphone from creative sucks,
- The equaliser is only four band,
just enough for some quality tuning.
- Tunes are sorted in Genre, then artist and then album.
(other players have a lot more functions)
- The Touch-pad is not making me happy.
- Creative software lacks bigtime
Pros: Sound quality, battery life, ease of use Cons: Graphic Equaliser, poor touch strip, lack of compatibility with Napster to Go.
Good product, Though the Touch strip is pathetic compared to the iPod wheel.
Sound quality is superb, ease of use is good, it's a little bulky and no matter what folks say about iPods, they still look better than Zen's.
My biggest gripe about this unit is the Graphic Equaliser. The GE on the 40GB Jukebox is excellent but the Zen Touch's is inferior. Why Creative haven't addressed this (and made it compatible with Napster to Go) I have no idea. So would I buy another Creative product? Yes. Would it be the Touch? probably not - though that shouldn't discourage other buyers.. I've just decided that I prefer the Graphic Equaliser on the Jukebox...The Touch is still a good MP3 player and value for money compared to iPod.
Pros: Very easy to use, huge amount of storage, cheaper than Ipod. Cons: It is a bit large (thick), which I don't mind, but some people may.
Really great mp3 player. The head phones are better than the IPod's headphones. The hard drive is huge. Nice screen, and I also like the scroll wheel. It came with a nice case, which conveniently allows access to the power button, head phone jack, charger plug, and lock.
Battery life is excellent. I went days with out charging it. It still had plenty of battery after about 15 hours. That is much better than the Ipod.
People say things that the IPod is the easiest to navigate. The menus in the Ipod and the Zen are virtually identical.
I work at Staples, and I bought the Zen 40 GB for $290-%12 Staples associate discount-40 dollar mail in rebate. final cost was $215+tax. That price cannot be beaten.
Poor quality, requesting now my 2nd RMA by bulpen ,Apr 22 '06
Pros: Price, quality of sound Cons: -Software is buggy
-Unreliable
-Poor customer service
I owned a Zen Xtra for 1.5 years and then decided to buy a Zen Touch.
It has been a headache since I got it.
FIrst of all, as many mention I am sure, the touchpad is very sensitive, making it hard to easily find exactly what you want.
Most importantly, they are not reliable.
The first one I bought would not uploade Zen-touch -> PC. I requested an RMA (i.e. an exchange for another one) and it took around 3-4 weeks. I got the new one, upgraded the firmware (required to play Rhapsody.com songs)and then transfer speed PC->Zen Touch dropped tremendously (it takes over 24! hours to transfer my 6000 songs).
I think Creative has the best MP3 players, but they are incredibly unreliable and their customer service takes too long to take care of the problems.
I will buy an MP3 player of another brand and if they do replace my existing Zen Touch sell it.
