Royal 150MX (Cross-Cut) Shredder

Cons: Virtually no Warranty and two units failed within six months or less.

I have had two of these new shredders and both failed. The automatic feature failed and I checked for Warranty procedures. The CUSTOMER must pay freight BOTH ways to ship for Warranty inspection and, hopefully, Warranty repairs. With the weight of this unit, it would be cheaper to just buy another one than to pay the freight. (Unless you live next door to the company.) The retailer just replaced the 1st unit. The 2nd unit failed when a credit card was fed in and the cutters hung up. After I got the card out, it would shred only on manual. The retailer refunded my price. (Sam's Club, if you're interested.) This product is misrepresented for use in my small 3 person office even though it looks nice and carries a recognizable brand name.

Pros: Great shredder for the price. Quite, fast, large bin, automatic operation.
Cons: Plastic gears will strip and render it useless.

Does anyone know where to obtain repairs for this shredder? It's a great little unit -- fairly quite, automatic, large storage bin and fairly inexpensive for it's capabilities. Only problem, I fed it an unopened credit card offer that had a sample credit cards in the envelope and when it got to the credit card the load became too much and it stripped the teeth off of the plastic gear between the motor and shredder mechanism. Now I need new gears - probably a 1 dollar part - or set it aside and look for a new shredder.

Pros: Very reliable, never had any mechanical problems.....
Cons: The other 2 negative reviewers must have accidentely shredded their homework!!!!!!
