Pros: Modern, stylish design and ease of cleaning Cons: Creates a lid with jagged edges whose shavings fall to the base of the machine.
I received the Cuisinart can opener as a gift and liked the sleek, modern styling of its design, its brushed chrome finish, and its ease of cleaning. However, as soon as I used it, I was disappointed and decided to use my gift receipt to return it. I ...

Pros: Attractive looking. Cons: Doesn't work consistently.
I received the Cuisinart Can Opener as a gift off my wedding registry-I chose it because the chrome finish matched the rest of my kitchen gear and Cuisinart has always had such a good name-I guess thats what I get for choosing something on looks alone! ...

Cuisinart CCO-40BC Can Opener = Junk
by curious7255 ,Mar 08 '07
Pros: Nicely styled; not too big; inexpensive; brand name. Cons: Doesn't open cans. Takes up counter space.
My wife has used a manual can opener happily for 40 years; but recently it's gotten harder and harder to work. It probably just got dull. We thought an electric one might be easier to use. We found the Cuisinart on sale; regularly $20 on clearance for $10.50. Seemed a very good price for a name brand.
We've had it for a couple weeks and find it opens about half the cans we've tried. Both of us have tried various methods of positioning the cans, with little success. I thought maybe it was that certain cans have non-standard top; but too many don't open to accept that explanation. I think it's just badly designed. Looks good; works poorly. It'll be going back to Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Worked ok for just 2 years
by berniss ,Nov 19 '05
Pros: Attractive silver color; can accept tall cans Cons: Short life span.
We had no real complaints with the can opener. It was a bit hard to attach the cans. However, I pushed down the can to attach and the plastic mechanism on the right that seems to start the can turning broke off. $20 and 2 years use only. It's a shame that a minor plastic piece has relegated this can opener worthless.
We bought a heavier duty Cuisinart today. Hopefully, this will last longer than two years. It has a three year warranty and cost more than twice as much.
