Pros: Brews coffee and functions mechanically as it should. Attractive & solidly built Cons: Lukewarm coffee, must warm carafe, grinder noise, can't grind without brewing right away
The performance of Cuisinart Grind & Brew reminds me of the saying: Pretty Is as Pretty Does. Unfortunately, Cuisinart needs to take another shot at coffee fame with this luxury model ~ in short, it does make ...
Pros: Great coffee, reasonably easy maintenance and operation, all-in-one design negates need for a separate grinder. Cons: Low brew temperature, absolutely silly caraffe design, small bean hopper, a bit of extra maintenance.
After having a great cup of coffee from a friends Cuisinart Grind and Brew over Christmas we purchased one ourselves. It seemed like the ideal machine - fresh ground coffee, an "all in one" appliance, and the supposed good name of "Cuisinart" ...
Pros: Great Taste, Convenient, and Attractive Cons: Carafe, Auto Shut Off is Annoying, Very Loud
I really don't understand why there are so many negative reviews out there regarding this model. I have had my Cuisinart Grind & Brew DGB-900 12 Cup Coffee Maker for a little over a year now and have been a very satisfied customer. My wife and ...
Pros: Makes great cup of coffee... allows a lot of control over strength. Cons: So many pieces in this machine, worried it'll break. Very technical when first opened.
I work for a coffee company and this item was one of the products we offered in our catalog. I had heard great things bout it and wanted to give it a try.The Cuisinart DGB-900 definitely has more features then I have ever seen offered in a ...
Pros: strength & grind controls for a great cup; less mess than using a separate grinder Cons: Have for 6 mos. worked great. now buttons don't always work
Much less mess than grinding in separate grinder. I brew enough for one Starbucks travel mug as I don't like my coffee sitting in a carafe. I am very particular and prefer fresh. I use cool filtered water (PUR) and most often, do not have a problem ...
Pros: Great tasting coffee; easy to use Cons: Strange pour angle on carafe, coffee not hot
After our Mr. Coffee machine suddenly stopped brewing coffee 2 weeks ago my wife and I went into a panic. I now had a new task... to find the perfect coffee machine. I spent hours and hours browsing the web looking up specs and reviews on all the latest ...
Pros: Large carafe capacity, relatively easy operation, HOT coffee! Cons: Would prefer a lit LED vs. LCD display, water level gauge on only 1 side
We've had this model for a couple of weeks now and it is a big improvement over our last thermal carafe coffeemaker, which did not have a grind function and was not a Cuisinart. The Cuisinart heats the water almost as hot as the local barista does ...
Pros: Great coffee, not much hassle. Cons: Loud while grinding, takes a few minutes, odd pouring carafe
I had the first model of the Cuisinart Grind and Brew for several years, and while I was happy with the coffee, it came with a price. Taking apart all the parts and cleaning was a pain. Eventually the basket got stuck, so it was time to replace & ...
Pros: Easy to use, sturdy, controls are intuitive, multiple options for different strengths. Delicious coffee! Cons: Doesn't stay "coffe hot" for hours. Minimal maintenance.
We couldn't be happier with this machine. It truely makes the best cup of coffee we have ever had. Unfortunately it has turned me into a coffee snob and now, most of the time, I am not satisfied with coffee from other coffee ...
Pros: Great tasting coffee! Stays hot for the next person, three hours later. Cons: The grinder is a little loud at 2AM. Carafe pours slowly.
Our old Braun was on it's last leg, but had served us well. It was time for something new. We've had the Cuisinart DGB-900BC for a week now. I had read the reviews and found a good sale price, but kept the receipt, just in case. But we are ...
Pros: Thermal pot keeps coffee hot all day without changing the taste, and very user friendly. Cons: If I HAD to think of something - re-usable filter takes longer to clean.
Love this coffeemaker, I won't ever go back to a glass pot after this! Coffee stays hot all day! Plus the coffee quality itself is excellent! The grinder is an optional feature, you don't have to use it everytime you make coffee, as long as you ...
Pros: 1.Burr grinder
2. Large bean hopper
3. Better tasting coffee Cons: 1.Coffee that's not hot.
2. Ungainly carafe that doesn't keep the coffee sort-of hot.
I recently purchased Cuisinart's new grind and brew coffeemaker with a burr grinder, which does deliver better tasting coffee than the old ones. It has two good innovations over their older non-burr grind and brew makers: 1.the burr grinder ...
Fine coffee but complicated design! by rsmg ,Nov 12 '08
Pros: Multiple adjustments and coffee stays hot and fresh nicely in thermal carafe. Cons: Cleaning complicated grind 'n' serve apparatus. Carafe turns nearly upside down pouring last few cups!
Bought this product looking for a quality brand to deliver the touted grind method and some cups of fresh coffee each morning. It does just that with a few pros and cons as detailed herein. Since only 15 words are allowed in each category, I'd just offer that cleaning the thing is a bit of drudgery, each morning. Better for those who don't mind cleaning after each use. That way, all the little "nooks and crannys" of the coffee distributing machinery will be totally dry when needed the next morning. Also, the design of the thermal carafe, (basically, a good idea as no one wants their coffee kept hot on a hot plate), this design features such thick thermal walls of the carafe that one must turn the carafe mostly upside down to pour the fourth, third, etc. to last cups. I normally just make four so it's pretty exaxperating to have to turn that heavy carafe nearly upside down to pour my two mugs!
Great coffee maker...nice & hot!!! by b757gal ,Jan 16 '08
Pros: stores beans so you don't have to pre-measure. Timer works great. Cons: the pour spout and clean up of the filter
I love this coffee maker. We put the water in the night before and set the timer. Works great. Timer works with both ground and whole beans. Coffee stays piping hot! even hours after. Clean up is a bit messy, but well worth it.
Cuisinart DGB-900BC Burr Grind and Brew by rat-dog ,Jan 17 '08
Pros: Good tasting coffee, unit looks good Cons: Water pouring angle, coffee not fully hot, carafe pour is slow
This unit does look good, with good tasting coffee, but the coffee is not steaming hot. Pouring water into it is a bit of a trick and a bit of a pain. It does take longer to set up the coffee maker. If you use the programmed start time for the morning, you don't need to have an alarm clock as the burr grinder is very loud. The biggest drawback I have found is that the carafe pours a cup of coffee very slowly, kind of like an old man with an enlarged prostrate. Sometimes I have to take the lid off to get a cup of coffee.
