Pros: Pretty, shiny, feels solid, makes acceptable coffee
Cons: Fire hazard, poorly designed, requires a great deal of maintenance, clocks and timers useless

Summary: I think it safe to say the "grind & brew" concept as executed by Cuisinart is a spectacular failure. I purchased one of these for my boyfriend. We are both serious coffee drinkers and this machine was purchased for his home where we both stay a majority ... read more

    Easy to Program
    Cons: None really

Summary: I am a previous owner of the Melitta Mill and Brew - when I could no longer find replacement parts for that coffee maker I decided to give this product a whirl.  I LOVE IT!  It is easy to clean - much easier than the Melitta.  Not sure why ... read more

Pros: Excellent design; as good as new after 2.5 years
Cons: Pretty tall--measure before you buy it.

Summary: I wrote a lengthy review of this coffee maker when I first got it over two years ago, but I lost it before it was submitted.  It was an absolutely GLOWING review, and after two years of use, my opinion of it is HIGHER YET!!  I thought I ... read more

Pros: Automatically measured and ground. Fresh restaurant worthy home brewed coffee daily.
Cons: Piece of junk that broke just after warranty expired.

Summary: First the good. I love a good cup of coffee in the morning. There is really nothing better than the smell and taste of freshly ground coffee beans. The Cuisinart Grind & Brew DGB-700 delivers just that and more! I'm fortunate enough ... read more

    Jun 20, 2008
Pros: Love the hopper, no need to add beans every time. Good tasting coffee, stays warm.
Cons: Grinder breaks after a short time. Pouring is difficult.

Summary: I bought this pot back in October from Bed Bath and Beyond. I did not use the grind feature every day, just mostly on weekends, for most of its short life. The grinder ceased function in April, about 6 months of use. Now, I should have known this was ... read more

Rated a Somewhat Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Jun 14, 2008
Pros: Very good looking, makes a decent cup of coffee
Cons: Poorly engineered - seems like it has a software bug. Clogs.

Summary: I bought one of these in March of this year. It came out of the box working perfectly - then some problems arose. The first problem was that the burr grinder mechanism clogs after several brew cycles - and the only way you'll know this is that the water ... read more

  • Mine Died -- Twice

    Jun 6, 2008
Pros: Great coffeemaker when it works.
Cons: Dies after a few months. Messy.

Summary: I'm having the same problem that a few other reviewers have had -- the grinding mechanism burns out after a while. On the first machine, it took from Christmas till about March to go. The Cuisinart people kindly replaced that one ($10 for their ... read more

  • Really disappointed in this product

Rated a Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Jun 4, 2008
Pros: Great carafe. Loved the pause and pour feature. Looks nice. Programmable. Quick brewing.
Cons: Easily brews water onto counter. Poor longevity. Loud grinder. Difficult to clean.

Summary: We liked the idea of a combination grinder/coffeemaker and loved the idea of a thermal carafe, rather than a warmer plate, to keep the coffee warm and to avoid breakage of a glass pot. After watching for a good price (this coffeemaker is pricey), we ... read more

Pros: Automatic timer was nice to set for the morning.
Cons: A few leaks did occur when the grind holder came out of place.

Summary: We received this coffee maker as a wedding gift five years ago. We have used it nearly every day since and it has lasted up until last week when I broke the decanter rinsing it out after using it. I will consider buying a new one but since the decanters ... read more

  • Quality issue with grinder

    Jan 14, 2008
Pros: Stores 1/2 pound of beans. The burr grinder is a major improvement. Easy programming.
Cons: Cleaning the grinder is a nuisance. It gets blocked too easily!

Summary: Definitely watch the 20 minute CD that comes with the machine as it will answer all of your questions and resolve most of the issues that people are having. Overall it makes a really good pot of coffee and you can adjust the strength from weak to ... read more

    Pros: Great coffee, low maintenance.
Cons: Quite loud, takes a few minutes longer, may be too expensive for some people.

Summary: I had the first model of the Cuisinart Grind and Brew for several years, and while I was happy with the coffee, it came with a price. Taking apart all the parts and cleaning was a pain. Eventually the basket got stuck, so it was time to replace & ... read more

    Pros: looks, all-in-one appliance, price
Cons: grinder shoot is hard to keep clean, water reservoir is difficult to reach

Summary: I bought the 700 model last weekend after reading reviews of the model with the carafe (900 model I believe). Since I tend to drink coffee over the course of a few hours, I decided I’d rather have a burner to keep the coffee warm rather than have to use ... read more

  • Grind & Brew™ 12-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker Model # CUI DGB-700BC IS DISSAPPOINTING

Pros: I liked that the grinder dropped the ground coffee beans away from the grinder.
Cons: Large unit, pricey,  poorly made Burr grinder that broke within a years worth of use.

Summary: I bought the Grind & Brew™ 12-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker Model # CUI DGB-700BC by Cuisinart.  2.5 weeks post warranty, the burr grinder in the coffee pot failed to grind the coffee beans.  I called Cuisinart, and they would not honor

    Cons: quality/longevity

safety concerns (starts grinding unprompted when plugged in and may not stop grinding until unplugged)

Summary: Our unit is approximately 2.5 years old.  In the last 2 months, it has been totally inconsistent with the grinder starting up randomly when the unit is plugged in but not on (obviously we are unable to leave it plugged in) and shuts off mid brew for
