Cuisinart Coffee maker BIG QUITTER!
by jacquie686 ,Jun 24 '06
Pros: fancy name to impress guest. Cons: Doesn't work!
This is my second Cuisinart Grind and Brew. First was replaced at the store it was purchased. But now the second has QUIT! This WAS a great coffee maker producing a great cup of coffee. But it would simple have a complete black-out after brewing started as if it were unplugged. In my frustration one morning I hit the front where the clock is and WOW it turned back on! So I wake up knowing it will turn off after a cup or two brew, hit it and it continues to finish brewing the pot. What a classy piece of appliance! Gee I can't wait for my third! When I make coffee for company it's great entertainment watching me hit it to make coffee! But this morning I broke out my old Black and Decker under the counter style that was put away for the travel trailer...guess what...no problems...full pot first time and it's 8 yrs. old!

Pros: Makes the best pot of coffee ever! Cons: Grinding process is loud. Grinding unit needs a thorough cleaning after every use.
I got this unit about 6 months ago, and now I am unable to drink coffee from anywhere but my kitchen. It is loud during the grinding process, and there a bit more work in cleaning the grinding container, but I would not trade this coffee maker for the world. There is nothing like fresh brewed coffee, and this product makes the best coffee I've ever had. You have to put a little extra effort into cleaning it, but it is absolutely worth the effort for the caliber of coffee you get. I used to be a Starbucks regular-haven't been since I got this.

Cuisinart Grind & Brew DGB 500
by hb7702 ,Jan 11 '05
Pros: Made good coffee Cons: Grinder broke after one month. No WWW way to discover how to get it repaired.
Sturdy and handsome, but overly large, making it a nuisance to ship back for repairs. It made good coffee but grinder broke after a month of once a day use. Manufacturer's web site gives no info on where to return it for repairs and when I telephoned Cuisinart in NJ, the Customer service person could not tell me where to send it for repair without Model and serial numbers.
