Pros: Powerful motor; stainless steel blades; 3-year warranty Cons: Short power cord; no accessories offered by Cuisinart
All That Is Missing Are Mag Wheels
When my sad little Hamilton Beach Blender gave up the ghost, I thought I could live without a blender. After all, my counter and cabinets already host a hand blender, food processor, hand mixer and...
Pros: Great quality and very easy to use. Cons: It is a little expensive, but worth the extra money.
My husband bought me the Cuisinart Smart power 7 speed blender for my birthday last September. At first, I thought that was too much to pay for a blender. But now that I had the opportunity to use it for the past 6 months, I have to say it was worth...
Pros: Lots of settings; touch-pad controls; 5-cup capacity; decent customer service Cons: Noisy; ice crush setting inadequate; not terribly effective; blade broke!
We don't use a blender very often, but every now and then it's a handy thing. So we got the Cuisinart SmartPower 7-Speed Electronic Blender as a gift one year.
It looked nice and impressive. It has a good 5-cup capacity. It has a...
I can see I'm going to be in the minority with this review on the Cuisanart Smart Power 7 Speed Blender. Everyone else seemed to like it a lot, but I have had nothing but trouble.
I am trying to CUISINART my kitchen. I replaced my blender recently, from the wal-mart special, to this cuisinart power 7 speed blender. Let me tell you there is a world of difference in the power.
Pros: looks, features Cons: one works for years, one breaks in a year
I could almost write two reviews on this blender. We registered for one for our wedding and have been using it for over 7 years. We still use it today. We bought one as a gift for someone else and it broke right away. Well, it broke in a little over ...
Pros: Crushes ice better than any blender I've ever used Cons: Haven't found one yet
I thought my KitchenAid blender at home was the best one I've ever tried, but then I tried using the Cuisinart SmartPower and I now I've changed my mind. Cuisinart has got some features that really make it stand out. Mostly though, it crushes ice...
Pros: Sleek design, sturdy, efficient. Cons: Might be a bit pricy for some.
The Cuisinart Smart Power 7-Speed Blender is truly a fantastic blender. I have the Classic Chrome model (a bit more expensive (Listed $115, on-line $99.95) than the regular model ($79.95 on-line) but VERY attractive.
Pros: Appearance looks good, strong and sturdy base. Cons: Doesn't blend well. Weak motor and blades!
The Cuisinart SPB-7 SmartPower Blender has a white heavy base that makes it strong and sturdy. Also attached is a no slip rubber grip on the bottom which helps keeps it in place. All of the 7 different functions are buttons ...
Pros: stylish, easy to clean, well made Cons: none
I'd been looking around for a new blender for quite some time. The old blender that both myself and my live in boyfriend had was older than both of us, being made sometime in the mid 50's. It worked, but your choices of consistency were "really...
Pros: Looks Cons: Repeatedly breaks.
Rude customer service.
Need to push two buttons to operate.
This blender looks sexy; that's why we bought it. It has a modern shape and keyboard layout, and ours had a chrome finish applied to the plastic housing. However, in my opinion the engineering leaves a lot to be desired. You have to push two buttons to...
Pros: Quick and easy to use. Cons: Very Sharp Blades!!
I have heard my mother rave about cuisinart appliances since I can remember so when I was given a reasonable ine of credit from one of those ritzy magazines, well I just had to get myself a Blender!==============================Let me just say that it...
Pros: Powerful Motor, Sleek Design! Cons: None that I have found
Among one of the most used appliances in my kitchen, is my Cuisinart Chrome Blender. When I first saw it, with its spiffy chrome base, I thought now THAT is a stylish blender! I don't know about you, but I like kitchen appliances to look...
Pros: Loud, but arent all blenders Cons: Blends everything, heavy duty
Best blender for the money. It has a nice big bottom, where the blade is, that way it is able to blend better than the skinny models. The big open bottom is similar to the VITA-MIX blender (best blender ever but cost $300+), which helps the liquid ...
Pros: easy to clean, easy to use, performs great Cons: none!
My Cuisinart 7-Speed Electronic Blender is amazing! This isn't a wimpy blender. From its solid glass blender jar to its powerful motor, this blender will crush, dice, mix, puree whatever you want!
I actually got this blender for free from an airmiles outfit, I had to pick one thing to get with my points and this blender was the only item that I thought might come in handy.
Well it's done more than just come in handy, it's a permanent...
Pros: great value, quick, powerful Cons: (be careful when cleaning the sharp blades)
My old blender just wasn't strong enough to crush ice, so my sweetie bought me this one, and although I first worried about the price, I now wonder how I lived without this wonderful blender!!!
Pros: Extremely Powerful Cons: None that I know of
I purchased a Cuisinart 7- speed Blender about six months ago and it's truly one of the best purchases I've ever made. I have owned so many blenders; none have been very powerful and none have lasted more than 2 years. That is why I decided to invest a...
Pros: Beautiful design, easy to use, easy to clean. Cons: Serious design flaw in bottom gear.
I was very happy when I first received this attractive Cuisinart blender. It mixed and blended many recipes without any problem. Smoothies where a joy to do in this unit. The ice crushing was done with ease. Cleanup was easily done by taken the unit...
Pros: sturdy glass jar, easy to use, pulsing ability, counter appeal Cons: base cracks easily, turns on spontaneously, ice crushing ability low
You think that you're going to get a good, reliable product when you buy something with a trusted name like cuisinart; not with this product. We had such bad luck with this blender. First, the performance was nothing to get excited about; no great ice ...
Pros: Touch pad cleans easily Cons: Base is made of cheap plastic painted to look like metal, pour spout spills
This blender works fine functionally, but the advertising is misleading. Cuisinart calls this a "chrome" or "brushed chrome" model when in fact it's nothing more than cheap painted plastic which scratches all too easily. The base is light weight and...
I have had my Smart Power 7-Speed Electronic Blender for two years now and have never had any problems. It is very easy to mix anything you want, and Iam talking about anything from ice to fruit or vegetables because the Smart Power 7-Speed Electronic...
When my $40 Osterizer gave up the ghost after a year and a half of hard wear, I decided to go for a more upscale model. I make a protein-shake/fruit smoothie thing every morning, so primarily, I'm looking for something that will blend frozen bananas,...
Pros: Blends well Cons: Hard to clean, too easily floods out the bottom
Cuisinart makes great products, but many of them suffer from the same problem, this blender included. Though it blends extremely well and functions as promised, it is way too complicated to clean and much too easy to open from the wrong end, which can...
Pros: Easy to use, clean, makes great stuff! Cons: A little loud
We purchased this blender after our Krubs blender crapped out on us after on two years. First off when I was first married we only used our blender to mix the occassional drink or to make a few milk shakes so I was not to careful about what I bought....
Pros: Powerful, easy clean Cons: Noisy, failed after 3 yrs
We received our Cuisinart Blender 7-speed chrome as a gift, and we fell in love with it. We used it almost daily for fruit smoothies and protein drinks. It was ALWAYS noisy. My preschooler would grin and cover her ears...it was that loud. But we...
This is one beautiful, sexy blender. If this blender was my car, it would be a sleek british model. And I would have the sexiest girl in the passenger seat. But then, just like any British car, this blender would break down all the time and spend most...
Pros: looks nice, cleans well, glass container, easy to use Cons: does not crush ice like it says
I purchased this blender for several reasons:
A) I like it's sleek clean look.
B) It is a good price for what it is SUPPOSED to do- like crush ice.
C) It is SUPPOSED to be durable- even though my first one fell apart after 5 uses...
My wife eats slimfast shakes two meals a day, and I was tired of the kids complaining about the noise that our cheap Oster blender with the plastic jar makes while they're watching morning cartoons. Since we were redoing the kitchen into a stainless...
Pros: Beautiful-looking machine Cons: Driven by a cheap piece of plastic
We have had a Cuisinart food processor for more than 20 years. It still works great. That's why we were so excited to buy their beautiful yellow blender.
The very 1st time I used it, it broke. The motor seems adequate, the glass is heavy-duty, but...
Pros: Powerful, great chopping power Cons: heavy (but that is a good thing)
This blender was acquired when we took our waring back. (It broke within 2 weeks) I love the Cuisinart. It chops ice nicely, makes perfect smoothies, and we use it quite often. ITs clean up is a breeze, no buttons or switches, just a touch pad. The...
Pros: convenient, great speeds, versatile Cons: can't think of any
I never had a blender because I am afraid of liquids so close to electricity. But when I got into a smoothie-craze, I decided it was time to break down and buy one. I picked this one because it was on sale, but I have to say, I love it! I can do...
Pros: Attractive, push buttons make cleaning easy - for as long as it works. Cons: Will make you deaf and burn down your house
Okay, here's my tragic tale of woe with this crappy, cheaply made hunk-o-junk: My blender was only about 6 months old when I decided to have a pool party for the grown up girls with lots of frozen MARGARITAS! Woohoo! So I'm in the kitchen whipping up my ...
This is probably my favorite kitchen product. I used to have coffee every morning... but now I can just take fresh fruit and yogurt and make a delicious healthy breakfast in just a few minutes! Plus Ive lost a LOT of weight thanks to this product. The...
Pros: Very Powerful, Solid, Easy to Clean Cons: The white plastic is susceptible to stains
I bought this product because I only like to buy things once, and because of this I choose to get things that are sturdy and powerful. One look at this blender and I know it was the one. You can tell just by picking it up that it is a solid performer...
I bought this unit to replace a 25 year Osterizer that we had received for a wedding gift. This blender turned out to be extremely disappointing in quality and noise level. Due to the shape of the jar, large chunks of fruit get caught under the blades when making smoothies. When in use, the unit is very very loud. The food processor jar is low quality and one of the lock tabs broke the very first time I used it. I though the blender was loud, the food processor is ear shattering loud.
I've ordered a replacement jar for my Osterizer and this unit is out in our garage sale pile for our next sale. Overall a very disappointing item from a company with a well repsected name.
A wonderful paperweight, lousy blender by tuco7777 ,Jul 10 '04
Pros: Looks nice, heavy construction Cons: Doesn't blend worth a damn. Look for something else.
Don't buy it . . . looks nice, heavy construction, but doesn't BLEND well at all. Would make a terrific paperweight, though. Why can't somebody make a blender that works? I don't get it.
Pros: Comes w/ small food chopper Cons: Very poorly built. Noisy
Bought in 2004 a Cuisinart blender combo at Costco based on brand name. Blade base cracked within 3 months, now motor mount is spitting out black stuff. Bring back my 40 year old Waring blender, now deceased.
I think this blender a great product. I only do the type of things, like blending fruit and ice (which can get tricky) and veggies. But it really gets the job done.
I'M SORRY TO SHOUT BUT THE BLENDER IS RUNNING! by onawlfours ,Oct 16 '06
Pros: easy cleanup, HUGE capacity, sleek design Cons: NOISE, poor blending, NOISE (oops said that already)
If you like LOUD and NOISY countertop appliances, this one will be Nirvana.
This has got to be the LOUDEST blender on the planet. At first, I thought it was assembled incorrectly and took it all apart and carefully reassembled it with no reduction in the NOISE level. The NOISE level would not be so bad if the blender did its job in a timely fashion.
This model likes to make NOISE simply for the sake of NOISE without truly doing the job. Smoothies, the purpose behind me purchasing a blender, are almost too much for the poor thing to handle. It doesn't like frozen fruit at all and sits idling waiting for me to stop it and use a spatula to stir things around. Something I thought should be the blender's job.
My choice was between a $110 KitchenAid and this $59.99 Cuisinart. I can only hope this one breaks and gives me an excuse to find out if the KitchenAid would have been better.
Pros: looks nice! no crap can get stuck between buttons Cons: some labeled 350 some 500 Watts..
i tried everywhere to find out how much power this thing has but no details on it. The only way to find out is to look at the base to see how much watts it has. There are 2 motors available. I was disappointed with my last 300watt philips blender.. when the drink got too thick, it won;t blend.
Some of the stores i've been to had the chrome and white ones with 350 WAtts and the white one I have it said 500Watts under the base. Maybe the one I have is the 2003 model as noted with other materials in the box.
This might make a difference? I will try it tonight crushing ice.
I Will try out the food processor attachment that was a bonus with it soon..
Pros: It turns on Cons: LOUD, doesn't blend well, hard to clean
I chose to purchase a Cuisinart because of its reputation as a quality product - what a mistake! Not only is this blender incredibly LOUD, but it can't even properly blend basic things, like a banana - I threw in a banana with some fruit juice and ran the thing at the ear-shatteringly loud 'liquefy' setting for nearly a minute and still the banana came out in big lumps. Also, very hard to clean - the glass seems to somehow resist allowing itself to be completely cleaned no matter how well I rinse and scrub. And last but not least, it continues to emit a foul electronic smell, which I had hoped would go away eventually...
I like it when it works! by goldenpeacock ,Oct 03 '07
Pros: sleek, easy to clean Cons: noisy, has trouble with frozen ingredients, may stop working, reluctant customer service
My husband and I got this blender for our wedding. Every morning we used it to make our breakfast smoothies. It does take quite a long time to blend the frozen and liquid ingredients, and you have to learn the order in which to add them in order for them to blend. I became concerned when I on occasion I could smell the motor. Then one day the blender just wouldn't turn on. We called Cuisinart, and they asked if we dropped it! Eventually we paid $10 and sent it back. About a month later we got a new one that hasn't given me any trouble (yet). If this one breaks, I'm done with Cuisinart because today my Cuisinart toaster oven wouldn't turn on (less than 2 years old!). With their prices and reputation one should expect better.
trouble with this cuisinart! by janeandraka ,Jun 13 '05
Pros: makes a perfect smoothie... Cons: ... for 1 month before you have to buy and install a new part!
this is a great machine but totally unreliable. i would recommend it only for those who use a blender occasionally. the original part that connects the blades to the machine broke after 1 month. since then we have ordered/installed and had broken 5 parts! we make 2 smoothies every day and this item just doesn't hold up
Cuisinart SmartPower Blender by maxshelby ,Aug 03 '05
Pros: Good at crushing ice, reasonable price, three year warranty, the chrome looks very sharp. Cons: Not the quietest thing in the kitchen but not as loud as my old blender.
I bought this blender a few months ago specifically for making frozen drinks and smoothies and also to replace an old Wal-Mart special that fried. I was a worried at first that the Cuisinart might not perform well because it was not an expensive blender even though it had pretty good reviews, but not to worry. This blender has no problem crushing whole ice cubes and mixing all the ingredients I put into it, even frozen fruit. It does a great job of mixing very thick drinks; I was particularly happy with the way it made a milkshake! If youre looking for a good performer at a reasonable price, look no further that the Cuisinart SmartPower.
Pros: Attractive, easy to use, easy to clean. Cons: Does not blend good at all and does not blend in frozen fruits.
Very nice looking blender and not a cheap one. I have had it about a year and have not been able to make a good breakfast drink with protein powder and frozen fruit or ice cubes. It doesn't blend good and I get chunks of frozen fruit in it which I didn't have with my former blender of a different brand.
I finally decided to just buy a different brand of blender and hope I can mix up the frozen banana, strawberries, etc. with it.
Cuisinart Blender is Junk! by instantmale ,Aug 22 '07
Pros: easy to use looks nice Cons: Cheaply made, loud, will never buy another Cuisinart product again.
I paid 100 bucks for this pile, I hardly ever use this cuisinjunk blender, shortly after the first time using this blender the jar blade was striped, they replaced it for free, now the motor part of the blender is striped and they want to charge. This blender replaced one that I had bought for $10, I had that blender for years with not problem. I gave my old blender away so i could pay to deal with nothing but problems with Cuisinart This thing is crap, DO NOT BUY!
Needs Industrial Ear Protection by ginnybee ,Mar 04 '06
Pros: Good blender - heavy glass jar with measurements. Crushes ice well. Cons: Deafening food processor. Too small, cheaply made processing jar.
I registered for this as a wedding gift. The brand has a great reputation and I thought that the blender/food processor combo would help us save space in our small kitchen.
The blender works just fine and the glass jar is high quality. The food processor attachment is small and flimsy - one of the locking parts broke off the first time I used it. The food processor is also horribly loud - I have requisitioned my husband's industrial ear muffs for use when making hummus, etc. I'm serious. I also make sure others are out of the kitchen for fear of hearing loss.
I'm in the market for a new food processor.
Very noisy - weak plastic drive sprocket design by anticom ,Aug 01 '06
Pros: Strong motor; glass pitcher Cons: noisy, mediocre blending for ice drinks, will ultimately break because of cheap plastic drive sprocket.
This blender was bought to make slushy ice drinks. Right out of the box it was unpleasantly noisy. Seemed that this was due to the plastic drive interface between the base and the pitcher. That interface consists of two black plastic pieces with teeth that mesh together. Rattled badly because they did not mesh tightly or smoothly. After about a year, the black plastic piece on the bottom of the pitcher fell off - the plastic threads were stripped and so would not screw onto the stem of the blade piece. From the reviews, this seems to be a common problem with this blender. Until this happened, other than being unpleasantly noisy, the blender worked ok - not great, but ok. The other annoying thing was the lid to the pitcher. Very hard to put on because it is designed to fit so deeply into the pitcher mouth (I guess to make the pitcher watertight -- but the effect is that it is so hard to put the lid on, that I just would put it in part way). I would not buy this blender again. Cuisinart ought to be ashamed to have produced such a bad design.
