Pros: Original idea, pop culture influence Cons: Rambles on with subplots
Summary: Cujo was the first Stephen King book I ever read. This horror novel is, among other things, about a rabid dog. While it certainly is not a favorite of mine, it gave me a good introduction to King’s writing style. I still have not seen the movie ... read more

Pros: Scary premise, good pace, King's imagination Cons: A few tangents that are unneeded
Summary: Last summer I was attacked by two dogs as I was jogging near my home and ever since I've developed this phobia of dogs running towards me. I couldn't help but think about Stephen King's book, Cujo, and try and put it into perspective. I read it ... read more

Pros: One of the greatest books I have read by Mr. King. Cons: There were no cons, in my opinion.
Summary: After putting down the book, Talisman. I was in total awe of Stephen King. I made a point of getting my hands on every single book of his. When I got "Cujo" I was excited. I read one of the older paperbacks of this book. It took me two days to read this ... read more

Pros: A good "set in Castle Rock" tale, eschews vampires and ghosts for more realistic chills Cons: A few dull sidetracks; otherwise, none
Summary: In 1981, seven years after the publication of Stephen Kings first novel, the High School Confidential Meets the Twilight Zone-styled Carrie, Viking Books released one of the authors rare forays into more realistic horror, ... read more

Pros: King takes you inside the mind of Cujo. Cons: The ending.
Summary: On my quest to read everything Steven King has written, I forgot that I never "read" Cujo, I saw the movie. On a recent trip to the library I decided to pick it up. The book starts out a little slow and at first I thought maybe I was reading the ... read more

Pros: Well written, in-depth character interactions. Cons: When you get down to it, it's just about a woman trapped by a dog.
Summary: Most authors would settle for creating ONE archetype. Stephen King has created a good half dozen, at least. Theres Carrie, the outcast high schooler; Christine, the haunted hot rod; The Overlook Hotel, the ultimate in haunted houses; Castle Rock, ... read more

Pros: well written story. not overly gory. well developed characters Cons: sexist vision of women
Summary: I'm living in a small city in Poland. The selection of reading material in English here is very limited. The result is that this year I have been reading things that I might not normally even look at. Among those things I've somehow never picked up when ... read more

Pros: Worst Case Plausible. Rabies - in a St. Bernard. Cons: Not for the timid. You'll want to lock your dog inside the house after this.
Summary: Cujo was a good dog and bad things sometimes happen to good dogs, or good kids or good grownups.
Cujo was a personal nightmare to me of course, because as a kid I was terrified of a particular St. Bernard named Martin who used to chase me just ... read more

Pros: Believable situation and characters Cons: It's still hard for me to get over the ending
Summary: I saw the movie of Cujo before I decided to try reading the book. To me the movie was good, but once I got done with the book I realized how bad the movie was. I also instantly got hooked on Stephen King.
THE PLOT:
Brett Camber's dog ... read more

Pros: good story; believable plot Cons: Some parts drag on; the 'evilness' aspect is not fully played out
Summary: There is a reason Stephen King is considered the master of horror writing. Cujo is one of them.
Admit it. Dogs are scary. Maybe not your grandmother's poodle, but big dogs with big teeth are scary. And, once again, without fault, Stephen ... read more

Pros: Very good book, lots of description and plot Cons: older book
Summary: Stephen King really did it with this one, a story about a dog gone mad, and the horror it can cause to a family, and to a town. This story was the first Stephen King I read, and it was what caused me to become enthralled with King, and horror novels in ... read more

Pros: excellent psychological thriller Cons: not for younger than 14
Summary: A lot of the books published today are not as reality orientated as they could be. This is not one of those.
The reason this is such a great book, [does Steven King write any other kind] is that this it is a possible reality.
That is one of the ... read more

Pros: A good book by King's standards. Cons: Not his best though.
Summary: The horror that King brings to ordinary peoples lives are realistic enough to make you feel that it might have been you. Everytime I read a Stephen King novel, I feel REALLY happy that it didn't happen to me!
The simple events (call it fate) ... read more

Pros: Very vivid, very real, depicts the strength and courage of love over the odds Cons: Almost too real
Summary: Cujo is one of Stephen King's most riveting and truly terrifying books purely and simply because it is REAL. What made this book truly horrifying is that, unlike many of the other manifestations of King's overactive imagination, this situation is too ... read more
