Pros: Non-threatening atmosphere. Time goes by very quickly. Machines made to fit people of all sizes.
Cons: Staff is not very knowledgeable. The workout can feel rushed.
This review refers to the Curves at the Pikesville, Maryland location, of which I've been a member for about month now. I have not yet had my "measurement day", so I can't comment on any pounds or inches lost, but I comment about the facility itself. ...

I joined Curve's a little over a month ago. I have to say that I love it! I joined during the food drive which was the main reasoning for me to join. During the food drive they wave the joining fee which is $149.00. You do have to sign up for 1 year ...

Curves is a waste of money

by nommo77 , Mar 20 '04
Pros: Easy, if that's what you want
Cons: Not a good work out, boring, not effective enough
I worked out there and didn't even break a sweat. It was boring, the music was terrible, and I felt like it was a waste of time and money. In a half hour I could go for a fast paced walk and at least break a sweat and see some decent scenery. It is ...

I have spent so much money in the past at different workout facilities and programs, that it's not even humorous. I'd join, go a few days and hate it. My experience with Curves has been different. I joined in November and went a couple of weeks, then ...

Pros: Great for older or overweight women.
Cons: Some Curves discriminate -- watch out!
I joined Curves 2 months ago, and I'm very satisfied with my local Curves experience. I'm an older woman (58) with about 30 pounds to lose, high blood pressure, and a family history of osteoporosis, which is why I was interested in Curves. I think ...
