Pros: A congenial environment in which to improve your curves. Cons: Can be boring after awhile, crowded and noisy.
UPDATE: The review following was written just recently at a time I was delighted with Curves. Since then things have changed. July, 2007: There were two Curves franchises in this city of 50,000 people in the Sacramento suburbs. Very recently one of ...

Pros: Lots of locations, not expensive, simple program Cons: Loud juvenile music, gets boring, awful magazine, bad results for me
I was thrilled when I got a gift membership to my local Curves. It's only ten minutes from my home. And although I'm not a big exercise fan, I do like weight training, so this seemed like it might work for me. And, at first, I enjoyed the workout, ...

Pros: Loyal customers, a healthy workout, a nice environment in which to exercise. Cons: Curves' fanatical oversaturization of the market cost my family EVERYTHING.
I am the former co-owner of a Curves. In late 2002, my wife and I went into business with my wife's niece after her wealthy father - my wife's brother - offered to purchase a nearby Curves for his daughter and asked my wife to be a co-owner and ...

Pros: Comfortable environment, price is right, real results Cons: Somewhat inconvenient hours of operation
I love Curves! I've been going for about two months now and really look forward to the days when I go, usually about three times per week, sometimes more. (You can go up to five times a week.) I joined with the goal of losing weight and getting in ...

Pros: fast
social for those that want it. Cons: boring,
bad music
workout too easy after awhile
Some of the pros for Curves for some people are that it's women only. Men aren't staring, you don't have to worry about what you look like, etc. I suppose that's ok, but the gym where I work out is men/women. There is no staring or ogling any women ...

Pros: Brainless, high motivation, easy, good atmosphere, solid workout, FAST Cons: Not an intensive workout for the fit–especially weights–and could get boring. No childcare, short hours.
My mom has joined her local Curves, and I got to visit once during the winter. Even in my fat and out of shape condition (virtually no exercise for 6 months), it was obvious from the owner's reaction that I was one of the fittest of the people who come. ...

Pros: Wonderful total body workout, Relaxed atmosphere, quick, effective, inexpensive Cons: not all clubs follow franchise rules, some of the owners are absentee
I work out at curves in my town and after reading some of the reviews, I HAD to write. I am 31 and have been active and working out for my entire life. I first heard of curves when my mom joined. She usually has me check out clubs she joins. I walked ...

Pros: easy workout Cons: WILL NOT STOP AUTOPAY UNTIL YOU THREATEN LAWSUIT
I joined Curves in Scotts Valley with two friends and was fairly happy with the system. The workout is not to hard, easy to adjust to your own speed. My first problem was that the women who worked there were hit or miss on their knowledge of how to work ...

Pros: easy to do Cons: no results
I've been a member for 14 months..at my 1 year weigh in I actually weighed 4 pounds more than the day i started. I am 50 yrs old and want to get back into shape. I've never been thin, and have a classic hour glass figure. Big busted, small waist, hippy. ...

Pros: not intimidating, machines are fairly easy to use Cons: too much staff turnaround, staff not always knowledgeable, workout can get very boring
I joined Curves in March of last year. I was looking for a fast and effective workout and the curves approach "30 minutes to fitness" really appealed to me. All the curves locations are pretty much the same. There is a shower and dressing area, place to ...

Pros: 30 minute exercise! Cons: Not all Curves are about exercise!
I recently moved. The Curves I joined in Eastern PA was great -- neat, clean, helpful staff, clean dressing room, they had all the machines, offered weight loss classes, my list of positives could go on. Unfortunately, the curves closest to my new home ...

Pros: Fast workout for those of us that don't have much time. Women-only facility. Cons: Will not be effective if you don't work the machines properly.
I've been going to Curves for about 5 months, and noted almost immediate firming of the muscles in my arms, abs and legs. There is no way you cannot firm the muscles and lose fat IF you keep moving and IF you work the machines correctly and fast enough...

Pros: All Women Cons: boring, workout takes much longer than 30 minutes,
Joined Curves last year after a series of sales calls. Once the owner got ahold of my home phone number, she would not stop calling until I finally agreed to come in. The owner walked me around, took my measurments, BMI etc. then signed me up. I...

Pros: Quick, Easy to understand, Great workout Cons: Mine is not open on Saturday, Sunday until 12pm
I love Curves. It's easy to find 30 minutes to get a good workout. The machines work with you. The harder you push them the better workout you get. On top of that I have been to other gyms before and ended up getting contracted for a year. With...
