Pros: Enticing packaging, but nothing else. Cons: Sound quality, interference, unreadable screen, strange sounding ring options.
I wanted a cordless phone with speaker phone capabilities, intercom and good range because we have a pretty big house and yard. The price was right and the packaging was enticing. Especially the 6.0 Digital "INTERFERENCE FREE" statement screaming "BUY ...
Pros: price--I paid 69.00 plus tax
Cons: basic functions beyond simple phone calls do not work
I bought this phone mainly because it was cheap (69.99 plus tax) at Best Buy. I brought it home with the not unrealistic expectation that it should be able to do function correctly and work like it says on the box...you know, caller id, voice mail ...
I made the mistake of ignoring all the reviews about this phone because I wanted a cordless speakerphone with an extra handset. Trying to find one with a lighted keypad, without an answering machine became a monumental task. I was excited to find all ...
Pros: Intercom, phonebook, headphone jack, up to 4 handsets, answering machine, call wait/fwd.
Cons: Hideous ringtones, can't copy/transfer phonebook entries, can't search phonebook, limited phonebook character set, custom battery
Yesterday I bought this (brand new, latest-and-greatest design!) to replace an aging, bordering-on-ancient (but still very usable) 2.4 ghz Siemens Gigaset, mainly because the Siemens doesn't have a headphone jack which my wife has decided she needs. And ...
Pros: Excellent signal and sound. Cons: Haven't found any real cons
In our house, the phone is important. We have looked at and tried several brands and styles and had to take each back immediately because of signal quality and/or sound quality. We have had the Model 28111 series phone from GE for over a week now and ...
Pros: speaker phone Cons: Caller ID malfunctions, couldn't receive all calls
I too was severely disappointed by this phone. After suffering for over a year with a gift Uniden 5.8 ghz dual handset phone, I finally got off my rear and went to replace it. It being a land line phone, at first I wasn't terribly worried about ...
Pros: -inexpensive
-attractive cosmetically
-above average reception Cons: according to the reviewer above me, this phone can kill you dead!!!!!! :P
I've come across six different forums that the user above copied and pasted that same drivel about how this phone is a 'health hazard'..... no more of a health hazard than the cell phones you spend 5-6 hours on a day. In regards to the other review- ...
We lost the fake phone for my kids playhouse & this will fit perfectly.
Cons:
Lots of static, poor reception, sound quality & charging, plus you can't hear messages left.
We bought this phone a year and a half ago amp; have been plaqued with static, poor reception, poor sound quality and short charge life. Our wireless router has interferred with reception amp; we've moved the cradle as far away from the router as ...
Pros: shaped handset, pretty silver color
Cons: invisible text on display, peculiar ringtones, bad sound, expensive for what you get.
I was looking for a multi-handset replacement for my old 2.4 Uniden that died after many years of use. I wanted one that provided no computer interference, was expandable, and had backlit keypad along with an integrated answering machine. I wasn't able ...
Pros: Lot of features, small and pretty, expendable. Cons: Complicated to set and MOST OF ALL the sound is horrible. Tin can horrible.
I was very excited about this new phone system and all the
wonderful features. I waited for weeks, then rush on the internet. Having use it for few weeks, I am quite deceived:
- The sound is so-so, it is sometime hard to understand people talking. Setting it to high make a slight "hum"
- The handset display is nearly unreadable, too bright with too thin fonts. Barely perceptible.
- Setting the phone is quite complicated (as compare to my
former Panasonic)
- There a lot of frill options, but some other lacking (setting the display light for instance).
- At every power failure, the answering machine to be reset (how modern!),
- The speakerphone sound is "humming"
So, it is far from the description on the box.
I'd rather go for a 5,8 technology and another ... and wished I
had buy it at Wal-Mart, so I could return it hassle free. But I did'nt.
New Technology, New Problems... by srtgadgets ,Dec 21 '06
Pros: Nice blue colour on keys and display. Lightweight. Cons: Poor sound quality, very hard to navigate menus, line noise. Overall very poor quality phone.
Overall quality : poor
Ease of use : poor
I am very technologically savvy, and I had a hard time to learn to navigate the phone menu.
The phone has a nice bright blue colour when active, but the LCD display is very faint and hard to see. The volume and ringer are faint, even at the loudest settings, but the line noise when the phone is plugged in isn't.
Very hard to navigate the menus. The centre Talk button on most other phones (and cell phones) is the navigate button, and instinct is to use this. The up/down arrows on either side are inconvenient at best. The buttons are not clearly indicated, and hard to find.
The voice quality is poor. It sounds like an electronic voice with loss of sound (electronic distortion) that makes it hard to understand what is being said.
Definitely a poor product. Unsure if the DECT 6.0 technology or GE's use of it is at fault. Took minutes to decide this product is unsuitable for use.
STRONGLY advise against purchasing this product, especially as a gift. It WILL be re-gifted. Most likely to you.
Pros: Mute feature Cons: Bad voice sound, interference, and decentralized phone book.
I bought this phone because I couldn't find another with a "mute" feature and because it said everywhere that it was interference free, and I worked from home using a wireless LAN. It all made sense since this phone was supposed to use a 6.0 Mhz frequency band.
I am not a heavy phone user, therefore the quality was not immediately realized, but it's been a year and I can tell today with all property that this phone have clear sound and "interference" issues, it is not what they have marketed as interference free and I highly recommend anybody not to buy this phone if you are buying it to avoid interference of other wireless devices in your place.
It have been a real disappointment and waste of money.
Pros: It was expandable to 4 handsets
See comments Cons: see comments
We took the phones back for a refund within 24 hours
16 hours of that was waiting for the initial charge on the batteries
1. Display is Blue on Blue very hard to read
2. Sound quality is not what I expected from a DECT 6.0 set
3. No "Hands Free" intercom - You have to push a button to answer a page (not like motorola which beeps then opens up the speaker for talking)
4. Ring tones are annoying!
5. The belt clip took two hands to fight with it to put it on a belt
6. Phonebooks could not be shared
7. could not set all phone numbers as 1+ area code + number and have it figure out if it was local or long distance even though we programed in the area code.
Pros: Backlit keys
Nice key layout
Multiple ring tones
Nice weight and size
Speakerphone Cons: POOR sound quality
Back light is too bright
This phone is a waste of your money. I bought this set of phones to replace another set of phones (AT&T Model# E2715B) because the AT&T doesn't have Caller ID on Call Waiting. The sound quality is REALLY bad. I can hear about every other syllable people are saying, and I'm constantly having people repeat themselves. I'm returning these phones to Wal-Mart as soon as I have time to figure out how to stuff these things back in the multiple bags and little containers that were crammed in the box. If you can stand the no Caller ID on Call Waiting, I'd suggest buying the AT&T Model# E2715B.
Pros: Voice clarity, range, security features were all very good. Cons: The display is like reading grey text on grey paper under a soft blue light.
When others mention the poor LCD display and backlight on the GE DECT 6.0 28111, please believe them. In a dark room, average lighted room, or bright sunlight, it does not matter. The display is just plain and simply unreadable. No contrast and very faint. I returned the phone to the store for a refund.
If you do not use Caller ID, or do not store numbers in memory, you could use this phone. The quality and range are fine. 80 steps (yards) away from the base I could make a call from the back yard every time. I'm waiting for the next generation of these phones because the DECT features are cool.
The GE(r) 28112EE2 DECT 6.0 Series Cordless Phone with dual handsets, caller ID and integrated telephone answering device (ITAD) is expandable to up t...More at Buy.com Marketplaces
