Pros: Easy on the joints; smaller than other Arc Trainers; lots of programs. Cons: Doesn't have quick buttons.
This is the third in my series of Cybex Arc Trainers. I am writing a stand alone review of the Cybex Home Arc Trainer but will leave links to the first two below. The Arc Trainers are for sure my favorite piece of cardio vascular equipment. However they ...
I used to consider the Precor Elliptical Machine to be my favorite piece of equipment to use at the gym, but now I head straight for the Cybex Arc Trainer. Made in the USA by a ...
Pros: Can add programs, small 'footprint', attractive Cons: Expensive, not as good a workout as a parabolic.
Our gym at work isn't huge, and so at times, it can very crowded, particularly at the beginning of the year (what is it about January 1st that makes people suddenly notice that they need to work out that March 12, July 10 or September 21 don't?). I try ...

Pros: This machine is easy on joints and gives you a complete body workout! Cons: I'm sure it is heavy! It takes up space as well.
This machine is a favorite. I work at a gym and constantly hear raves about this machine. I used it everyday and the settings allow you to point out which body parts to work. What it can do Your upper body can be worked out easily with a high ...
Pros: SMOOTH, QUIET, EFFECTIVE, DURABLE, BEST IN CLASS! Cons: May be a tad expensive, but with new home model its much better on wallet
I will be short in my review, I used to use all sorts of ellipticals in the gym, but as soon as i got on the ARC trainer I knew it was different. A lot of the people I talk to say it felt weird so they got off, well get back on. Think about the first ...
Pros: Easy to use, smooth, quiet, heavy duty, fun Cons: Price
I have the pleasure of using this product in my physical therapy. It is wonderful and even gr8 for someone who has back problems such as myself,I would also say easy on the knees as well. It is very smooth and easy to do. The handles have different positions, depending on what your comfortable with. The controls are easy to read as well as understand. This makes for a fun way to get a workout in. If your a runner and have knee issue I recommend this for sure. If you like cross country skiing then this will be something you will enjoy.
Greatest Exercise Equipment Ever Invented! by jpod2 ,Mar 25 '05
Pros: wireless heart monitor, variety of options - no resistance, resistance, uphill, weight loss, ect... Cons: There are no cons. This is a great machine.
I had the opportunity to use this machine at my college's recreation center. This is a wonderful machine. By using the wireless heart monitor it specifically caters to exactly what your body can handle. This feature gives you the ultimate workout. You don't finish your workout out of breath, yet you're sweating as though you've just run 10 miles. I instantly saw a difference in my legs and butt within a week. I love going to the gym and working out on this machine. It's great!
I have owned this machine for 2 months now and have had 4 service calls! I have paid $120 for call out fees on top of the initial 6000 investment. First when I got it home it made a horrible grinding noise. The company where I bouht it from imdeiatly replaced the unit with one which had the exact same problem. I had a service man come out and replace a few parts and the unit was great for about a week and it started to clunk it felt horrible. Once again service call. Since then the machine has been operating well although I am scared to use it in fear that it is going to suck more money from my pocket. DO NOT BUY THIS SERVICE NIGHTMARE! I would wait a few years until they work out the many apparent bugs.
Great Machine! Will give you a great workout! by jlborough ,Nov 11 '05
Pros: Wonderful workout, no stress on joints, and very very quiet machine. Cons: I don't have anything negative to say about this piece of workout equipment at all.
We recently purchased the ARC for our home gym and it is by far the best piece of equipment I have used in years. It gives you a GREAT lower body workout, I saw a change in my legs and I've dropped 5 pounds in the past 2 weeks of continual use and now I am addicted. I use it everyday. In 20 minutes I can burn 300 or more calories. It has several different options to choose from, weight loss, interval, cardio, strength and manual. So you can vary your workout from day to day. Very comfortable to use and absolutely no strain on my joints. VERY quiet machine, no need to crank up the TV while using this.
Pros: Low impact permitting high volume high intensity training. High quality Very quite. Cons: Quality costs
After using the CYBEX Arc Trainer at my fitness club I bought it for the home. I use it to train off season - inline speed skating. I find the movement much easier on the knees then high end elliptical trainer. Cybex is expensive but high quality. Very quiet - cannot be heard from the floor below. Can vary the routine tremendously - inline, resistance, arms no arms. This helps fight the boredom. Monitors heart rate with hand grips but it also recieves heart rate from Polar chest band that I purchased. Quick adjusting so you can do short hard intervals with quick transition to easy rest periods. Low impact permitting high volume - high intensity. Excellent machine for general fitness or elite athlete.
