Pros: Clean, bright, fast interior Cons: poor to mediocre Greek food
Daphne's Greek Cafe is a chain restaurant that started in Southern California and has not spread up to Northern California (San Francisco Bay Area) and into Arizona (Scottsdale) with plans to open many more locations. The site we recently visited is ...
Pros: Service, clean environment, delicious food Cons: A bit more expensive than "typical" fast food
My husband and I ate at Daphne's Greek Cafe last weekend when we were out and about Ontario, California. We stopped by for a quick lunch and were quite pleased overall by Daphne's Greek Cafe. My Experience We had never eaten at a Daphne's ...
Pros: Friendly and attentive staff, varied menu, prompt service, clean, great background music! Cons: Chicken and shrimp occasionally a bit too dry, can be pricey
It's obvious George Katakalidis had a great idea when he thought up Daphne's because the company continues to grow. I have visited his restaurants in Temecula, Tustin Ranch, Corona, Long Beach, Irvine and Brea, and continue to return. Each time I'm ...
Six years ago, I was introduced to this particular restaurant; although, I have eaten at other Greek restaurants. And since that time, I have returned on many other occasions and let me tell you, the food is really out of this world. ...
Pros: Avgolemo Soup is wonderful, and so is the Greek Salad! Cons: Service from the kitchen can be slow at times.
I'm not Greek, but I love Greek food. I can't tell you if Daphne's food tastes like what someone's Greek Mama would make. But, I know I love it! Daphne's restaurants have a walk up counter, where the patrons order food, and then wait for it to be ...
Pros: Wide selection of great food Cons: Often crowded for lunch
Daphne's is a bright, informal Greek restaurant with excellent food. It's a small place where you order at the counter and take your plastic number to a table--not a romantic restaurant, in other words. Daphne's is right off the 405 Fwy on Inglewood...
Pros: FOOD!
Wait staff!
Cleanliness! Cons: crowded on weekdays (lunch) and weekend nights (dinner).
Daphne's Greek Cafe is great! I visit the Brea and Fullerton store often and absolutely love it! The wait staff is always very kind and helpful when I am undecided on what to get. The food is delivered very fast and tastes like it had been made with care and precision you'd expect at a fine dining restaurant. One of the best aspects is the cleanliness. The store is nearly immaculate! I always feel like I got a great deal and great food by the time I leave! Highly recommended!
Pros: The restaurant was clean and well-lit. You could refill your soda for free. Cons: Not a good value. Not good food.
We ate at the Redondo Beach (So. Calif) branch of this chain. I ordered the Gyros plate lunch. The meat was so dry it was crunchy. The rice "pilaf" was flavorless, though it did have a nice bright yellow color to it. My wife joked that the one Greek olive on the salad was the only good part of the meal. She ordered the Vegetarian plate. The falafel had a strange flavor, she said, as if it had been frozen and de-thawed. The tahini tasted like library paste. The pita on both of our plates was dry and looked like it had been deep-fried in oil. Overall not a very good dining experience, and we would not go there again.
