Pros: Really low price for a burr grinder Cons: Can get a little messy with finely ground coffee
As a lover of freshly ground coffee, I've been through my share of coffee grinders. The first one I got, a Braun, lasted for over 10 years, and I still use it to grind spices, but when we bought a bigger coffee machine, it simply couldn't hold enough...
Pros: Inexpensive, simple operation. Cons: Grind is too coarse for espresso. Seems a bit flimsy.
UPDATE 5/11/2004 -- NEWS FLASH!!! I finally found an inexpensive burr mill grinder that performs well, even with ultra-fine settings. Unfortunately it does not yet have an Epinions listing but I will mention it here: the Mr. Coffee BMX5, one ...
Pros: Grinds coffee better than comparably priced rotary grinders; inexpensive; usually available Cons: Not sturdy; takes some experience to use it correctly; grind not always even
We've had our DeLonghi Electric Coffee Mill for about a year and a half now. It does grind coffee better than the rotary grinder we had earlier, but unfortunately it isn't the greatest grinder in the history of coffee either.
Pros: Compact. Clean. Burr Type. Cons: Need to hold down grind button.
I got this grinder for my birthday. I also recently purchased a Bodum grinder for my sister for Christmas, and got to use that, check out my review. Having had experience with two different grinders, I like this one better for me.
Pros: Inexpensive, does the job Cons: No significant range of grinds available; messy
I received this grinder as a birthday gift in early 2003. In the year since it has ground a lot of coffee, this is what I have found. It does not really seem to matter what grind I set the dial to, it always comes out at a grind level ...
Pros: Looks good, ablility to grind more coffee than regular smaller grinder can. Cons: Coffee jams, noisy, hard to use.
It's funny how I ended up with this grinder, I didn't even want a grinder. I had spent many mornings, grinding coffee, which for me is a somewhat jolting experience at 6:30am...anyway, I digress.
Pros: Compact size Cons: Espresso grind, on finest setting, is still too coarse for good crema.
This is fine for basic coffee grinding (and at COSTCO, is only $29.00), but unsatisfactory for the fine grind required for good espresso. I even tried to re-grind the first run to see if it could grind fine enough - still unsatisfactory. Am going to...
I love coffee (don't we all). I use this grinder for grinding beans for French press, drip, and mostly espresso. The grinder does a good job, producing relatively consistent grind. I don't clean it because I use it often, but it's not hard to do so. This...
Pros: Grinds nicely, decent storage for about three pots worth of beans, attractive inexpensive Cons: Gets jammed ALWAYS, can be messy, seems to miss beans
Saw the DeLonghi at Costco for $24.95 and thought it looked like a great deal. I had been looking for a grinder that would hold beans and this one, with it's self-timer seemed the way to go. How wrong I was.
The unit itself holds about three pots...
Pros: Grinds more than coffee Cons: Can't control the fineness of the grind
We bought this grinder to grind flax seeds. For nutritional reasons, my wife and I grind one to three tablespoons of flax seeds and drink them in water. We bought this device to make it easier to grind them each morning, instead of having to use a...
i got this grinder for $21
it has an all plastic body but the flat burrs are all metal
it makes alot of noise
i must say that it never clogged the grinds in the chute or jammed the beans in the hopper like my mulino has done
grind...
Pros: Cheap for a burr grinder Cons: Worth less than a blade grinder
The DeLongi, or any burr grinder that speeds at 1500 rpm and blows the coffee into a tub, is worse than any blade grinder that you can twist up and down and sideways. I bought my DeLongi at CostCo for $25. So it was worth the experience. The coffee is...
