Pros: It looks good. Cons: This saw is dangerous; it spits blades.
I have a DeWalt keyless drill and an orbital sander. I like them both, even though DeWalt's equipment tends to be on the heavy side. Let's be kind and assume that this indicates they're well-made. I went to The Home Depot to buy a jig saw to replace ...
Pros: Control and smoothness are first rate. Tool free blade change is great! Cons: blade hard to lock in
Yes, I have reviewed the Porter Cable jigsaw similar to this Dewalt. It is VERY similar, except for the DeWALT having an adjustable base for making angle cuts. The Porter Cable also has electronic speed control. They are both heavy duty, professional...
Pros: Powerful, well balanced Cons: poorly designed blade lock. Too much blade deflection
I bought this saw as a refurb back in 01 or 02 and thought I was really upgrading my "tool status " by adding another professional grade De Walt to the stable. I bought this saw from Harbor Freight tools as a refurb for $89. Within 3 months the dust ...
Pros: Plenty of power, long stroke. Cons: Design defect in blade holder, and it won't cut straight.
When I first bought this jigsaw, the only competition was the Bosch product. Both were the same price. I read one or two favorable reviews about each, but found a review stating problems with the Bosch's base, so the DeWalt got the nod. This was two...
Pros: Tons of power, excellent variable speed control system, very robust, quick blade changes Cons: Needs some tweeking out of the box, takes awhile to get used to changing blades
Generally I do a lot of online research and read a lot of customer reviews before I make a purchase. In this case my decision was spur of the moment, I really wasn't planning on buying a jig saw when I saw the DeWalt DW321 on the clearance rack. I ...
Pros: This saw would be great if it were reliable. Cons: It's not reliable.
I bought this saw new because a friend recommended it (or a bosch). I went for the Dewalt. I own a Dewalt
deck screw gun and love it. I would like to love this saw. I have nothing against Dewalt. The DW321 is a neat
saw with plenty of...
Pros: A solid and sensibly designed machine. Cons: Relatively expensive.
This is the first time I've ever owned a Jig-Saw, I've always borrowed or hired them in the past but having recently moved to a new house with plenty to do I thought I'd better invest.
My main reason for choosing the De-Walt was because of...
Pros: Durability, ease of blade changes Cons: No dust collection
I’ve had my DeWalt jigsaw for over 2 years now, and I’ve been very happy with it. Granted, the jigsaw is not the most used tool in my wood shop, but it does see more than occasional use, and I haven’t had any failures or problems. Several other ...
Pros: Good product, good price. Cons: Positioning is very sensitive for cutting straight lines.
I purchased this saw believing that, because it was a DeWalt product, it must be an excellent product. I'm a brand wh*re so all my power tools are curiously DeWalt with the exception of a Toshiba cordless drill, 2 Black & Decker circular saws (same as ...
Pros: Easy blade change, ease of use and beautiful cuts Cons: Sawdust covers the cut line unless you have a blower.
This jig saw is a true workhorse. It is easy to use and easy to setup. The ability to cut a various angles is beautiful and fairly accurate. I have used it for the last eight months on a fairly regular basis and it acts like it is still brand new. I...
Pros: Little vibration. Cons: Blade wanders, blade very difficult to change, company rep rude.
I bought a DeWalt product because of good experiences with other DeWalt products, namely the chop saw.
The DeWalt jig saw does not hold the blade securely. The blade will wander left or right while cutting. It is difficult to hold a cutting line. It is impossible to use an edge guide for a straight cut.
I returned the saw to the DeWalt Store. I was rudely treated there. However, they did take the saw and issue me a receipt for refund which I am to receive in the mail.
Pros: Good saw when working, ease of blade change, comfortable to work with. Cons: I think there may be a defect with this product, very expensive for its lifespan
I consider myself an avid diy'er. I used this jigsaw to build a bathroom and renovate my living room.
I have had 2 of the same models and both have broken after Manufactures Warranty (1 Year).
It seems under heavy load the aluminum housing just below the blade guide cracks jamming the saw or spewing aluminum schrapnel. I would like to know if anyone else seems to have experienced this problem or any similar defects?
My advice: if you own this model be sure to wear saftey glasses!
If anyone has a similar problem please contact me I am in contact with DeWalt tools regarding this issue.

Pros: easy blade tensioner; install blades in a snap Cons: flimsy clear plastic attachment guide. Pricey
I am a Maintenance engineer for an apartment community and was in need of a jigsaw for my line of work. I did some research on other name brands but was drawn to the DeWalt line of tools. I was impressed with the internal working of DeWalt tools: The motor armature is made of heavy thick windings with a heavy duty casing.
Ease of use: easy to hold onto and well balanced. easy way to replace blades with the built in tensioner.
power: can easily cut through wood, metal, plastics with the right blades. smooth running motor
Durability: made of industrial strength plastic with rubberized grip.
Pros: Runs great. Cons: Loses blade every few seconds of use.
Shortly after the warranty expired, the blades would spit out within just a few seconds of running. The only response from DeWalt was to take it to a repair center. I bought a Milwaukee and put the DeWalt on the shelf. Recently, I decided to see if there really was a good solution to the blade retention problem. DeWalt has not responded to my email at all. The local repair enter say they can only restore it to original. I had hoped for a real solution, one that would work for a long time. I do not plan to buy any more DeWalt items.
If anyone has a repair technique that really works, please share it with me.
Pros: Great power, good speed control. Great bookend when it won't hold a blade. Cons: Inferior materials. Bad design. Poor quality control. Very disappointing
If you buy one of these don't let it out of your sight. If someone unfamiliar with it tries to change the blade, you will be buying a new saw. The saw is not economically repairable after the blade has been overtightened. That's right first time you or an employee overtightens it it's junk.
Tool less blade changes? Give me an allen wrench any day, tools don't scare me. Poor engineering does. This is a excellent example of poor engineering and inferior materials in one neat and tidy package. Just say no!
