Pros: Beach and pool. Cons: Customer service, cleanliness, construction, bedbugs.
Taste vary when it comes to resorts but there are some basics that should at least make a week stay enjoyable when the resorts website features an eye dazzling online photo gallery of stylish rooms, fancy dining and extravagant furnishing. The ...
Pros: Relatively inexpensive; oceanfront; conveniently across the street from Walgreen's. Cons: Rude, incompetent staff; poorly maintained facilities; advertised amenities not available.
General facilities The Deauville Beach Resort - first of all, the name itself is a misnomer. Perhaps accurate when Frank stayed here, it is now an embarrassment of a decomposing has-been hotel and hardly a "resort". The write-up says it was renovated ...
Pros: Classic-era Miami Beach property; Facilities maintained well; value for money Cons: Housekeeping a bit lethargic, surrounding neighborhood in transition
The Radisson Deauville Miami Beach Resort is another in a series of properties built in the boom years of the 50's and 60's, when Miami Beach was a destination of the rich and famous (and not quite so rich or famous). When Collins Avenue, not Ocean...
Pros: Maybe I will find some Pros by the time I am done with this Cons: We actually stayed there for 4 nights
I just returned from the "Deauville Beach Resort"...yesterday. Today is January 10, 2006. What an experience we had at the Deauville. My Boyfriend and I were looking forward to a nice long weekend away. To celebrate in a friends wedding and to stay in ...
Pros: It's cheap. Cons: Terrible staff, bad food, dirty rooms, bad neighborhood.
I hadn't read any of the reviews before I booked this hotel, so I only have myself to blame. I was going to be in Miami for 2 days on business, and I thought it would be nice to stay somewhere on the ocean, rather then downtown as I usually do. I ...
Pros: Beats sleeping on the bench in front of the Walgreens Cons: ..but not by much
Scan the other reviews and you'll see a pattern. Before '03, this hotel received reasonable reviews. Following that, it descended into an abyss. My review is no different. We arrived on Monday, 5/23/05. As with visitors in April (a friggin' month ...
Pros: Some friendly and competent staff, but that doesn't make up for the overall experience. Cons: Please see the review above for the cons.
I just spent a week at this "resort" in Miami Beach for a conference and my colleagues and I were all incredibly disappointed. They refused to honor the conference rates until after we argued for two days and had to complain to our conference hosts to ...
Pros: Well, the remote control batteries were not dead. Cons: Too many to list here.
This hotel is no longer a Radisson. They either lost or gave up their Radisson designation. If I had to guess they lost it. This hotel is absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, regardless of the location. We went through 4 rooms till we ...
Pros: It was somewhat close to South Beach - only 45 minutes by cab! Cons: Too many to list - rude, arrogant staff, ZERO customer service.
Our national association chose this hotel for our annual strategic planning meeting this past weekend. Without exception all who attended our meeting agreed that this hotel was a poor choice. Here are just some of the issues we dealt with during our ...
Pros: Hmm....can't think of any. Cons: Dirty, smelly, non-airconditioned, old rooms, inefficient staff, broken elevators, inadequate parking. The worst!!!
I'm a well traveled individual, and I can honestly say that this was possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I compare my stay with the movie Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, as my experience started out as bad and went to worse and then to incomprehensibly horrific. This hotel is a dump that operates under the pretense of being an upscale Miami Beach hotel. The staff is incompetent, disorganized, and nothing less than clueless. We switched rooms 4 times, and each room/suite was worse than the one we saw before it (we ended up going back to the original). The nonsmoking rooms reeked of smoke, the air conditioning did not work in any of the rooms (in mid Summer, no less!), the bathrooms were filthy, and the bed linens were old and tattered. To top it off, only two out of the four elevators worked, and the valet parking (mandatory, of course!) had run out of spaces and could not park our car for us. What a nightmare!
We should have stayed elsewhere. by kahlilah ,Apr 19 '05
Pros: It's on the beach and has a nice pool. Cons: unfriendly and inattentive staff, television old and not working properly. Rooms are cramped, construction area.
Staff was rude and unprofessional, the fire alarm, television, ice maker, and the toilet was broken, lobby and pool bar closed.
We were given a room with two full size beds even though I'm six months pregnant. They said there were no other beds for us.
The toilet over-flowed on to the bathroom floor. We waited an hour for someone to clean it, no avail. When asked about it, the receptionist was rude and nonchalant. They eventually came, the cleaning person fixed the toiled and left the water for my husband and I to clean.
Food trays were left in the hallway for the whole day...it smelled horrible!
At 2:00 a.m.the hotel smoke detector went off. Security was unable to tell us why. They claimed to have fixed the problem but the smoke alarm went off until 8:00 a.m. We had to cover our ears during the entire ordeal. There was no apology for the disturbance or so much as an explanation as to why the alarm was going off.
We should have taken our chances and stayed at the small motel a block away. Avoid this place, it is by no means a resort.
We liked it went April 3-5 2009 by ffrances2000 ,Apr 08 '09
Pros: Nostalgic and nice "resort" Affordable Beachfront Beatles pics! :) Cons: Closed pool too early Closed gate too early Backed up valet
I suppose if you are used to Club Med or Hilton you might be disappointed, but we came with two boys (9 & 11) and had a great time. We did get the top floor, and the view was fantastic. We enjoyed the beach (came home with a lot of large conches) and the waves were normal for Miami. We walked down the street to the Mexican/Colombian restaurant the first night and had a very good dinner; the second night we had a great dinner at the Cuban/Thai a block the other direction. Walgreens across the street was convenient for those needed flip flops. It looked like the valet parking got backed up, but you can always ask for your key and go get your car if there was a real problem - (we had to get some things out of the car.) Everyone was quite pleasant with us, but then again, we like to be pleasant with others. They did their best to keep up standards with a guard for the basement/ground entrance to the elevator so you don't get slippery areas, etc.
