Pros: loads of features, really works as a mini PC Cons: turns off on occasion, customer support lacks

Pros: Great graphics, Word and Excel nice to have Cons: No synching, no internet, weak battery, no updating
"The Bottom Line" The Dell Axim 51V is a very expensive handheld PC with more limitations than a cheap insurance policy. Unless you have a new computer with all of the recent updates installed and you never plan to use it outside of your own home then ...
Pros: Small, sleek, nice looks, clear screen. Integrated wireless. Cons: Windows Mobile 5 not the greatest--slow startup. Prefer more options for saving backup file.
When my Compaq Ipaq (several years old) started to have connectivity problems, I went shopping for a new handheld. I did a lot of research, and settled on the Dell Axim. I purchased the Dell Axim X51v, specs: Intel 624MHz, 256MB ROM 64MB SDRAM, 3.7 ...
Pros: Improved design over the X3. Better battery mgmt. Cons: Rapidly being outgrown by iPod and other mobile devices.
This is my third PDA following the Axim X3 and before that the Casiopeia. I won't bother with technical stats, since you can get those on the Dell site. I will talk about my field experience. Overall, this is their strongest PDA yet. The feel, ...

Dell Axim X51 is an excellent Cost -Benefit purchase by hebertespinosa ,Nov 15 '06
Pros: Nice and reliable performance for the value. Cons: None I could talk of. It's been working well so far.
The Dell Axim X51 handheld is a valuable purchase for the price. After many months using it, I just couldn't find any flaw I could complain of. It has a robust design yet it is lightweight. Easy file sync via Microsoft ActiveSync. Quick navigation through shortcut buttons available at the front bottom. Bluetooth incorporated that works well. Available slots for both Secure Digital and Compact Flash memory cards. Windows Mobile which is the most complete OS when it comes to PDAs, in my opinion.
Of course that a minimum of prudence will keep your equipment working nicely and for a long time. Don't expect your PDA to shock resist if it falls from the third floor of an apartment building, if you try to run too many applications at the same time, if you install dubious software or if you tap the screen as if you were about to make a hole through it. This is just like any other computer. Be reasonable and careful and everything will be fine.
I can reliably carry my eBooks, my agenda, my calendar, my address book, my dictionary and my notes anywhere without fearing loss or lack of energy. Highly recommended.
