Dell Inspiron™ E1705 PC Notebook

Pros: Reliable, long life battery (9 cell), Great screen.
Cons: The E1705 generates heat especially if not used in an area ventilated per Dell req'mts.

After reading a review suggesting that the E1705 is slow to start and shutdown, I must say that to the contrary, my experience with this unit is just the opposite.
I did download the Microsoft "Windows Defender beta 2. This program resisted the existing McAfee antivirus and caused the unit to slowdown. Once this Beta was uninstalled, the unit started and shut down very quickly as it did upon receiving it new.
