Pros: Fast, cutting edge mobile graphics, bright crisp display, TONS of connectivity options. Cons: Expensive, but not anywhere as expensive as an Alienware or other "Boutique Brand"
I recently picked up an Xbox 360. In the past several weeks of playing it, i've been having great fun. Prior to the 360, I had been playing the usual PC games. FEAR, Quake 4, Battlefield 2 and the like. I also had an unhealthy addiction to World of ...

Pros: Its FAST! Runs high end games and software, nice quality and design. Great LCD Cons: Only trail software included. Bit pricey. Only about 90 minute battery life.
After having nightmare technical issues and service with my Acer gaming notebook computer, I swore I would never buy another notebook computer again. However, found that I needed a superpowerful notebook to take on the road with me to run my high end ...

You get what you pay for

Pros: Great performance, extremely high quality, great for gamers Cons: heavy, very expensive
I purchased the Dell XPS M170 about a month ago and absolutely love it. I bought it primarily for the gaming power and have found it to exceed my expectations. This is probably not the best computer though if you are looking for compact size or a good price. However, if you desire the most powerful desktop replacement on the market, I highly recommend this Dell.

Amazing, But the minor flaws are huge flaws to me
by eichler4 ,May 15 '06
Pros: Very Fast, Very Clear. I believe the hype about it being a desktop replacement. Cons: Glass sometimes makes it painful to see the display. It's as heavy as a desktop.
I have a great desktop pc with every option out there, and this laptop beats it in almost every way. However, I made a huge mistake in ordering a laptop bracket and power inverter for my Chevy avalanche which was supposed to do 2 things for me: #1. allow me to use my new dell with microsoft streets and trips w/gps locator as a navigation system. And #2. Since the bracket was adjustable, I could move it up high, and have an amazing clear 17" movie player for the kids in the backseat. The reason this was a mistake is because A). The beautifully clear LCD screen has a glass cover, so all I see during the daytime is reflection, reflection, reflection. B.) This isn't really Dell's mistake, but that laptop is sooo heavy, I don't believe I could have it on my laptop bracket for more than 10 minutes before it caves in and the laptop falls off it (Yes, I realize this is the fault of the bracket manufacturer). My big idea turned out to be a disaster.
