I can not believe the statements that I am reading about the Dell system. Those who say they have problems with the remotes simply need to try new codes on the universal remotes furnished by the cable company. I set mine up so that one button controls the TV and the Sound System. Sure it takes a while but one can find a code that works with a little patience. I purchased the Dell recommended Panasonic SC-HT930 home theater system to compliment the TV. It is really an excellent combination. The TV was purchased through SAMS Club and the tilt wall mount ($200) was included in the price along with free shipping. The TV was delivered from Dell. I can't comment on Dell Service and from what I have read; I know that being patient and direct will help. To date, I could not be happier. The Super Bowl was outstanding on my new Dell HDTV!

Well, I did a lot of research before actually selecting a unit and I did read all the reviews about buzzing or humming noise along with some HDMI issues. Well, its been just a couple of days and I still have not seen any issues. I am using an HDMI cable from my Directtv HD receiver to the TV and so far, so good. Again, it's only been a couple of days but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

As for the picture, it's freakin incredible!!! I'm not sure how many watts but the sound could use a bit more power. However, if you are using a home theater system, this really won't matter.

Based on all the reviews, I did make it a point to check for dead pixels and found none.

However, I did have to call Dell right after I placed my order because I wanted to change the shipping address and it was HELL!

Dell's support really does suck and I feel real sorry for anyone that needs to call them.

For the money, I don't think you can beat it!

i did have the same problem with the hdmi port in that
when i watch a dvd after awhile the screen flashes
on and off and the remote freezes so i just turn it
off manualy and back on then it works again iam not
even going to try the dell tech thing i just

I don't understand what everyone is complaining about. Yes I agree that Dells customer service, which happens to be in India, takes patience but have they tried calling Sony or Panasonic? Same deal with them. The TV does make a slight buzzing sound UNTIL you plug the speaker in and they it goes away. The TV does need some color adjustment out of the box but what TV don't you adjust to your liking? My feeling is that the majority of the people complaining would have complaints even if the TV was free. The Dell salesman answered or returned my call with 1/2 hour each time I had questions. I shopped and read everything about all plasmas and felt this was the best bang for the buck.

Pros: Picture quality was very good (when it worked).
Cons: Poor quality. Loud buzzing noise, control panel locks up, hdmi doesn't work.

I'm now on my third Dell HDTV machine, with the first two having broken down in the first couple of days of use. Problems include HDMI input that blinks, loud buzzing noise, and a control panel that locks (have to unplug the set the reset). The only thing worse is Dell service, where I've spent over 10 hours on the phone, get a promise that a new set is on the way, and then nothing happens.

Pros: Sound was good.
Cons: Average picture. Remote useless. Tv locks up. Green picture sometimes and loud humming.

Out of the box the TV turned on and was a green picture.
The remote is useless and the tv locks up and nothing will unlock it until you unplug it and plug it back up. It has
a humming noise. Called Dell and they said they were aware of the problems and would send me a new set and give me $250. I said no and had the set picked up. They made me pay $100 of the shipping and they were aware of these problems and shipped the set. Go figure but I had no choice. Oh yea. The have had the set back for weeks and I have been in contact with Dell many times and still no
refund. I bought a Panasonic 50" and love it.

Pros: beautiful picture, great value
Cons: cords could run through legs of stand, making cord storage prettier

I bought my Dell 42" Plasma simply because I wanted a new plasma television. After reading a few of the reviews I was nervous about receiving mine. I got it exactly a half an hour earlier than the drop off time, it unpacked and set up easily and works flawlessly. I am exceedingly happy with it. The remote apparently has been revised for 2006 and not only the numbers light up....but the entire thing. The screen has a gorgeous picture--of course I'm using only component inputs with my Bose video switcher/Toshiba DVD player, so I can't tell about HDMI. There is absolutely no problem with Buzz...and the green/black problem has been fixed as well.

Pros: Price, quality, sound. DUAL HD tv tuners built in!!
Cons: The 50" isn't available until later this fall

The quality and value seems to be the best in the industry. I did my research prior and the Dell 42" Plasma got great ratings from PC Magazine. I also saw that Dell won in the HDtv challenge, beating out Sony. This is my first plasma and I am very happy with my purchase. The other thing I like, is my advanced exchange warranty. So if something happens to my tv, Dell will send out another one next business day (I think they do that will all their other E&A items).

Pros: Good picture at a good price
Cons: The Buzz and its instructions were a joke...

OK I got it on sale last year and have been real happy with it. i did buy the extended warrentee just to play it safe and the only thing I did notice recently is if I stand near the set I can hear the now infamous buzz. as long as I can't hear it when I am sitting watching it I have no complants.
