Demolishing the expectations

by sleestakk Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jul 30 '01
Pros: Rob Halford is enjoying his comeback.
Cons: Will the real Judas Priest please stand up?
Lifeless smoke lazily lifts around the piss holes of the Metallian machine; the flames are extinguished. The fire that once bellowed within the beast no longer burns on their latest release. This isn't your daddy's Priest. And it ain't mine...

Geez...For the Life of Me Why do some people hate this album?

by stretch_nutz69 , Oct 04 '03
Pros: "Demolition" sounds so fresh.
Cons: I wish the Snare Drum was louder and heavier.
If the tone of my review seems a bit defensive, it's because I've read the bad reviews for this puppy, and I'm kinda fed up with it. I fail to see why anyone would dislike this album, though I respectfully Disagree. In 1992 Original vocalist Rob Halfor ...

A mixed bag

by thrasher32 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Oct 11 '01
Pros: Better than "Jugulator"
Cons: Cheesy lyrics, overproduced, does not live up to the JP legend
I've been listening to Judas Priest since the late 1970's, and have always admired them as cutting-edge pioneers in the metal genre. I grew up on albums like "British Steel", "Stained Class", and "Screaming for Vengence". At one point in time, I can...

Judas Priest 2001 - The demolition begins!

by fsahmad , Sep 29 '01
Pros: The best heavy metal album of the year!
Cons: NONE!
Five years ago, Judas Priest announced the return of drummer Scott Travis to the band and the recruiting of ex-British Steel/Winter's Bane vocalist Tim 'Ripper' Owens.
Four years ago, the new album "Jugulator' is released with 'Ripper' on vocals....

Must be deaf to say this is better than its predecessor, Jugulator

by johnnyangel94 , Jan 05 '06
Pros: A Few (and it is a few) catchy songs, modern sound, nothing more.
Cons: Un-Priest sounding songs, too modern, Ripper's voice potential is unused, Jugulator destroys this.
First things first - to the (few) people that have made grey-cloud excuses as to how this is better than Jugulator -- clean out your ears. Demolition isn't even close to Jugulator, and Jugulator is FAR SUPERIOR and more remiscient to the Priest-legend ...

Poor Effort

by swataz , Feb 12 '03
Pros: None
Cons: Terrible sound & production.
What can I say about this album?

I used to love Judas Priest back in the glory days, al the way up until Painkiller.

Since Rob Halford's departure, the subsequent two CDs without his songwriting & lyrical input, as well as his...

Judas Priest latest record Demolition is great it is very different than Jugulator, but still quite heavy.People who don't like it exaggerate about this album. This album is satisfying,i mean it's great and it has 13 songs of pure metal and...
