Pros: Easy listen, good message. Overall, awesome. Cons: N/A
Gorillaz Demon Days Release Date (US): May 24th, 2005 After the release of their self-titled debut album in 2001, the Gorillaz emerged onto the music world with hit singles such as "Clint Eastwood" and "19/2000". They gained instant fame overnight, and ...
Pros: more focused stylistically, Danger Mouse provides excellent production as always, damon's voice Cons: more focused stylistically, a couple of duds, pointless intro, Dan and Del are gone
The Gorillaz are an animated band thought up by Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albarn of Blur. The band found success with their first album and a catchy hit single that combined rapping and a catchy chorus from the likes of Damon's deliciously smooth British ...
Pros: Its the Gorillaz! Great beats, cool lyrics, included bonus disc Cons: None :)
So, not too long ago I bought this CD, having always been a fan of the Gorillaz. I didn't really bother testing it at the CD store, since I figured I'd buy it anyways. So bought it, came home, put it in, and just started listening from the beginning. The ...
Pros: Five decent tracks Cons: The rest suffers without the touch of Dan The Automator
Music has been known to evoke certain emotions. In my case, this normally has something to do with a memory I think of when I hear a particular song. However, when I think about this album from Gorillaz, all I seem to get is anger and ...
Pros: 'Feel Good Inc,' other brief glimpses of glory Cons: Bleakly drawn-out overlong meaningless alternative mishmash
You can accuse Gorillaz of the use of many detrimental techniques on Demon Days, but they're far from generic. Proudly bearing banners 'the world's most popular animated group' and the 'first virtual hip-hop group,' the cartoon's second album is a ...
Pros: Almost every song is a winner on this disc. Cons: You may have to play some songs twice.
I recently purchased Demon Days by the hip-hop/alternative band Gorillaz after initially reading Epinions.com Music Category Lead lambchops review. It’s no secret that the Gorillaz are known as the "first virtual hip-hop group". ...
Pros: It takes you to hell.... Cons: but then it takes you to heaven...
Mkay, here's the deal. I've been trying to review this for a long time now, yet every time I would start to write a review, I would read crypticcradle's, then run off to a corner and cry. So after much deliberation, I decided to do 3 different reviews: a ...
Pros: A darker, more mature, creative, unpredictable effort from the Gorillaz. Cons: If you wanna nitpick, there’s no production from Automator and no raps from Del.
Ever since their debut in 2001, Gorillaz have been getting worldwide mainstream recognition. What drew up intrest in fans was not just their music, but the fact that they were animated literally. Gorillaz is a multimedia project created by ...
Pros: Energetic, creative, wild songs--at least as good as the Gorillaz debut. Cons: Um. Uh. Dan the Automator is gone...
While the Gorillaz may look like stylized cartoon characters, they are actually a supergroup of uber-talented musicians. Once upon a time, they were a collected helmed by Damon Albarn (Blur) and Tank Girl cartoonist Jamie Hewlett and produced by the ...
Pros: The last five tracks are especially solid, and most songs are good. Cons: "Feel Good Inc."
Please disregard the text of this review. My views on music have changed in recent months. Gorillaz made sure that we had several ways to entertain ourselves while patiently waiting four years for the release of their new LP. Their ...
Pros: more mature sound, 15 tracks, solid Cons: filler, less alternative style, can take a while to get into
Introduction Let me start out by saying this: I am a Gorillaz fan. I loved their self titled album, even though many disliked every song besides "Clint Eastwood." I bought this record thinking I would receive more of the same. I was both ...
All alone on the list of greatest album ever. One of my favorite albums ever. by carbon343 ,Jan 09 '09
Pros: The songs - the hidden meaning - the originallity - the contrast. Cons: The lack of ways to actually find the meaning.
This was one of my favorite albums of all time. The meaning hidden within this album only is dwarfed by one band-Pink Floyd. The creative narration of "Fire coming out of a monkey's head is amazing. This album contrasts from the first album a lot but is not bad. This album has sent me on a long quest to find the meaning. The song El manana has been the only song I understand- depicting noodles death. One of the best albums ever-one that actually tells a story. Definatly save up the 15 bucks that is a small price for the expierience that this will give you.
Pros: Eclectic mix, never dull, often inspiring. Cons: takes more than one listen to appreciate.
The first time I listened to this was on my way to work. I wasn't very impressed, songs two and three begin with the same line is sung over and over, that ploy is used throughout the cd. I couldn't tell the songs apart on my first listen. It didn't help that when I got bored, I would skip to the next song.
Thankfully, it was the only cd I had at work and the antenna of my radio is broken. This left one option, to listen to this cd over and over again. The backgrounds, too subtle for the truck ride, were entrancing, and I wondered how I ever thought they sounded similar. After repeated listening, my appreciation for Demon Days only grew.
If you do get this don't expect a rehash of their first outing, Danger Mouse brings his own style to the table. You may just have to sit around that table a few times to get the full effect. Do not judge after one listen, as I almost did.
The 15-track Demon Days is the follow-up to Gorillaz s worldwide smash self-titled debut and was co-produced by Albarn and Danger Mouse. The London Co...More at Buy.com Marketplaces
