by bigboy_kid , Mar 05 '02
Pros: clear sound, good price, good quality, solves all the hometheater needs
Cons: complicated / poor quality remote, denon 1602 is made in korea
It gives you a very crisp and clear sound. I use it with a powerd subwoofer and 5 small JBL speakers SCS135 and the sound is amazing while wathing a movie. The Auto button is amazing and it detects the source and the mode DD or DTS, its simply amazing....

Denon Delivers a Value Solution

by mv505 , Mar 21 '03
Pros: Great Sound and options for a great price
Cons: bad remote control design
For the price, you can't ask for more. Denon offers high quality, durable products. Although this is not a high-end receiver, this is more then enough for the average home user.

This receiver offers a variety of options such as 5 channel...

Denon is for Lovers

by radioguy Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Oct 10 '02
Pros: Great Out-of-Box Experience
Cons: Lacks 7.1 Surround Capability

I have had relationships with many electronic products over the years and, although the Denon AVR-1602 and I will only be celebrating our two-week anniversary the day after tomorrow, I am pretty sure this is more than just a crush.

We...

Great mix of price and performance with few compromises

by DavidChar , Feb 17 '02
Pros: Good clean sound, Dolby PLII and DTS support, simple setup and operation
Cons: Only one optical and one digital coax input, No OSD, skimpy manual, poor remote ergonomics
I like things to last - my college CD player and receiver had given up the ghost after 13 short years of hard use and multiple moves - how dare it! It was time to replace my system. I auditioned systems from Pioneer, JVC, Onkyo, B&W and Denon. I...

Great Home Movie Receiver For The $$$
by zodiac711 ,Aug 17 '04
Pros: Excellent sound; more than enough power to drive my speakers, great price!
Cons: Difficult to use remote control; RC doesn't work with my NAD DVD player
I'll be the first to admit, I don't have the "Golden Ear" that some have.

Therefore to me, while I can hear an audible sound quality going from a cheapo receiver to this, when you start looking at the $500+ receivers, I just don't hear the difference.

And, having owned other Denon products (DCD-1015 CD player, PCM-520 integrated amp, and TU-280 tuner), I have had nothing but positive experiences with Denon.

The sound quality is superb for the price, both for watching DVD's as well as listening to music CD's.

If you're looking for a true Audophile system, this isn't going to be it. But, if you're looking for a nice Dolby DTS receiver, not wanting to break the bank, I highly recommend!
