Pros: Price features and sound. Phono preamp. Cons: Reliability problems. Surround sound parts impossible to get after only 5 years. Avoid
I now know that this receiver is garbage. Or rather Denon's serviceability and parts availablity is. My receiver's digital surround electronics bit the dust in May. It took several weeks for Denon to finally own up to the fact that they can not supply ...
Pros: Sound quality, turntable input, range of features Cons: A little under powered for old analog media
Right after I got my Denon DVD player and was able to experience 5.1 sound for the first time through my Onkyo receiver, the Onkyo took a power hit. The repair or buy new conundrum didn't last long. Based on the fact I had just bought a Denon DVD I...
Pros: Incredible build quality, Great sound reproduction, Dolby PLII, Value for dollar Cons: Wait from authorized dlr, remote
First id like to explain that this is a great receiver for the money. It offers an array of features Id never use and many that I would.
I had shopped around for several receivers in this price range for months. Comparing the Onkyo 595, and...
Pros: Enough power (Drove wife & dog out of Room) 5 channel stereo is great! Cons: Remote
I purchased this unit as an upgrade of a Yamaha RV-901 to get DD 5.1...and for movie viewing it is head and shoulders above the old pro logic. The booms are boomier and you can hear crystal clear dialog through the center speaker. The Denon even has a...
Pros: Excellent features. Great value. Cons: No on-screen display. Controls are a little quirky. Poor manual.
I paid $365 plus shipping at SoundPros. I looked at similarly priced models from Pioneer, Onkyo, and Kenwood. Denon was the best value. Receiver has Dolby Digital, DTS, and Dolby Pro Logic II. There are lots of inputs/outputs (although no component...
Pros: good name to live up to. Recomended by friends. Cons: Remote not the best
In my search for Home Audio Denon has always had a good name and has been recomended by friends and audio buffs. I needed to update my home theater so I went shopping. I was told by my sales person that for the money I would be happier with the Denon...
Pros: Denon Quality, Power Cons: Remote is almost useless
I purchased this at ABT electronics (great store, just ask and the salespeople give they will give you a discount, Although I don’t have experience with them online) about 2 months ago.
Set it up as the centerpiece of my Home Theater. Connected is...
Pros: great sound Cons: remote is a little on the tricky side to use
I got my AVR 1800 2 years ago and will have to say its the best receiver I have ever owned.
Matted with my PARADIGM mini monitors and a powered subwoofer it just sounds clear and tight. I use this setup for listening to music and watching movies...
Pros: Clean power, good processing. Cons: Sound can be a little too analytical.
I use the Denon as the hub of my music and home theater system. I believe that the Denon has excellent processing which makes for a great system. This processing does what it is supposed to do without errors. Good bass management and good clean power. Although, I use its internal power only for the surrounds and run my mains and center through a rotel 6 channel amp which I feel is a little warmer and more musical than the Demon. However, I consider the Denon for the money to be an excellent choice.
