Pros: light scent, soothing white cream, relatively easy to wipe away Cons: a little sticky, not as moisturizing as petroleum jelly
I've been rather lucky that my daughter has never had a bad diaper rash. I received a 2 oz tube of Desitin Creamy with Aloe & Vitamin E as part of a baby shower gift and I'm still on that first tube 10 months into motherhood. Generally, I use a dab ...
Pros: No scent Cons: Actually made baby cry, diaper rash got worse
*** update on 4/6/05: I read an article yesterday in the Boston Globe health section that Sodium Borate should not be used on infant skin. I noticed that Sodium Borate is an ingredient in this product.*** ORIGINAL REVIEW Since I am on my third ...
Pros: Works really well, gentle, feels like lotion, smells good, easy to apply and clean off. Cons: None!
For the first few months of my sons life, he was sensitive to everything! I nursed him 95% of the time and that meant that I had to watch my diet for his sensitivities. I could not eat anything spicy or citrusey and because of his lactose ...
Pros: nice smell, cream smooths on easily, soothing ingredients Cons: not enough active ingredient to treat rash, cream rubs off too easily to work
I Just Finished An Entire Tube Of Desitin Three weeks ago, Her Royal Highness began sporting a nasty diaper rash. She seldom gets them, and they have always gone away very quickly once I notice them and begin laying on the creams. A tube of ...
Pros: Goes on creamy Cons: Doesn't work nearly as well as Desitin. Has 1/4 of the active ingredient of Desitin.
After a long hiatus from Epinions, I’ve found a product that is so bad - I just had to come write about it. (It’s been two years since I’ve written a review, I must be pretty fired up about diaper cream!) My wife and I have two kids, one who is still ...
Pros: It is thin enough so it is easily removed between diaper changes. Cons: Does not work.
I was not very impressed with the Desitin Creamy with Aloe & Vitamin E. The creamy formula in Desitin Creamy with Aloe & Vitamin E is very thin and does not protect as well as a thicker formula. Also, the Desitin Creamy with Aloe & Vitamin E did nothing ...
Pros: no offensive odor, easy application, easy to clean off the skin. Cons: too thin to form a barrier , not enough active ingredient, caused pain/stinging.
I used Desitin on my own three girls and am pretty sure it's what my mother used on me many, many years ago. Now that I am caring for other people's children (and have been for 25 years) I often recommend Desitin for stubborn diaper rash. One mother, ...
Pros: One tube lasts you throughout one kid's infancy. Cons: Pricey.
I have 3 kids ages 2, 6 and 9 and I have used this brand of diaper rash cream on all of them if I remember right. My kids don't get diaper rash that often but I always have a tube of this because my sister gets them from work with a big discount. It ...
Stick with original Desitin. by goneshopping ,Mar 02 '06
Pros: wipes easy, smells nice, leaves skin soft Cons: Does not work
I received quite a few sample packets Of Desitin original and creamy. The creamy does wipe off easier and leaves little bottoms soft but does not work. I used up the originals and just threw out the creamy. Thought I'd second joyfulgirl91 after reading her opinion.
Pros: Heals fast, easy to apply & wipe off Cons: Look for coupons, a little costly
After a week using the Aveeno diaper rash cream, It didnt go away! Actually it worsened.
I then bought the DESITIN, CREAMY, W/ALOE & VIT E. 3 days later, i repeat 3 days later it is 100% better. i believe by tomorrow it will be gone!!!!!
my daughter is happier, so am I.
Pros: Good for Clearing Up Rash Cons: Costs more than Petroleum Jelly
I don't use this often, except for when my little man's bum gets broke out. Usually I just use vaselline (that's what our hospital uses), which is cheaper, and a great barrier to wetness. But when he changes food, his chemistry changes a little, and he breaks out a bit. That's when I pull out the big guns. Desitin Creamy works great, and gets rid of the rash overnight, usually.
It's a lot more expensive than the petroleum jelly, but it helps a lot.
Pros: nothing.... it doesn't work Cons: It is too runny, does nothing to protect from moisture, it has PERFUME in it.
I have been a loyal user of original Desitin since the birth of my 1st child. I have 2 children, 11 months apart, so I do a lot of diaper changes. Both my kids have delicate, fair skin (daddy is Irish), but especially my youngest. She has had a diaper rash on and off her entire year of life. Desitin usually does the job. My husband went to buy more because we were running low, and he bought this stuff instead of the regualr Desitin, thinking it was better. Well I used it and noticed right away that it stunk of perfume. It was runny, didn't stick to her bottom, and it actually made her rash worse because of the perfume. This stuff is awful! Who's idea was it to put perfume in a diaper rash cream?! I'm planning to write the company and complain. I am extremely dissatisfied. I recommend Dr. Smith's Diaper Cream. It works better than Desitin, anyway.
