Pros: cheap, easy to use, durable, lightweight, time tested, safe.
Cons: not good for thinner ropes, the friction from ropes wears off the color.

Pros: Simple Design.
Very Efficient.
Works perfectly.
Cons: It is about 18 or 19 dollars. Its just a hunk of metal.
Everyone has seen this thing before. Every gym I have ever been to carries these because they are on the cheaper end of the spectrum and they just work really well. There is nothing to technical about a belay device but I have used this one extensively and it works the best out of any other I've used. Simplicity is very efficient in this case.
