Now that it's a clearance item ...

by tlknapp , Aug 24 '08
Pros: At clearance price, a great stop-motion animation camera for kids' projects.
Cons: The "helmet" option produces grainy, jerky, low-resolution video. Worthless.
... it's a great deal. My homeschooled seven-year-old recently got interested in the idea of making stop-motion films (specifically, Lego "brick films"). I was planning to pick up a decent webcam, but happened to come across the Tony Hawk HelmetCam on ...

Pros: A working rudimentary helmet cam, which could be fun for some users.
Cons: Cold stops it dead. Expensive for what you get (at $100). Bad colors, jumpy motion.

Good Value and Really Fun
by faderdad ,Dec 29 '06
Pros: Simple, fun and cool.
Cons: Poor instructions, but no big deal.
Bought this for my daughter for Christmas and was surprised how well it works. She'll be able to add rollerblading footage to her video projects now.

Really simple to use although the instructions are no help in this regard

Can't comment on the included software as it is Windoze only. On the Mac, just drag the avi files from the SD card into iMovie and have at it.
