Pros: Was impressed with the sound given the price.
Cons: Hard to seat iPod; Directions not extremely clear.
Clock is fairly easy to use with large numbers. Very easy to read at night even without eyeglasses. Clock has a 'dim' feature to use at night as the day setting for the numbers is pretty bright.
iPod connected to docking station with no problem, but it seems hard to know when the iPod is seated well enough to allow it to function.
Wake to iPod is possible. Can wake to aux port, but it won't be able to power on that unit, but it could be used for a non-iPod MP3 player.
If iPod isn't connected and 'wake to iPod' is set, the alarm will still function with the 'beep'. Directions weren't extremely clear, but with a little experimentation, it's easy to figure out how to work the clock.
Buttons seem a bit stiff to work, but they might loosen up as the unit ages.
Unit has battery backup but the documentation doesn't really say exactly what it does -- it does keep the time during a power outage, but the doc doesn't say that it will fire the 'beep' alarm.
'Average' unit as far as materials and construction, but 'above average' for sound (given the $45 price range).
