Pros: Large screen Cons: Slow start up, poor mapping, serious program flaws. Have time to kill, it's for you.
I have used many different types of GPS navigation systems and usually by changing settings and getting the latest mapping I have been able to make it work the way I wanted it to. This unit is one of the slowest to boot up and get GPS. Then it is guiding ...

Pros: Price, size, features, ease of use and solid construction. Cons: Under certain conditions will 'seemingly' alert you to a turn prematurely.
The Plenio system is large (7" screen) and well built. The controls and features, as extensive as they are- are easy/simple to use.The unit can play MP3 music, display pictures as well as videos, and has a very addictive game also built ...

Pros: Big screen, SD card, big mount, price. Cons: Unfinished software, slow start, reliability, screen brightness, low internal memory.
GPS became very popular, and Korean DVS (a maker of CD tray readers) jumped in this stream too. VXA-3000 could be a good product, unless it would require software and a slightly better quality of electronics. The first one I tried has died after two ...

Plenio VXA-3000 GPS
by mdazzle ,Dec 31 '06
Pros: Screen, Mount Cons: Delay, bad directions, no carrying case, outdated POI.
I just got it from costco for $399. I'm definitely going to return this product. The screen is great, the mount is solid. It doesn't come with a carrying case, which is a pain. Also, the maps are outdated with regard to POI. I'll be staring at a gas station and the unit doesn't show one there. But the worst part about it is that the navigation is anything but flawless. The unit tells you to turn on streets that don't connect to the one you're on, and this is extremely frustrating. It's very confusing and unreliable. I'm going with the cobra nav one.

Plenio VXA-3000 GPS
by viola_or_pdx ,Jan 14 '07
Pros: Big screen, good mounting bracket. I like the SD card option Cons: Out of date map, navigation accuracy is not good
I agree with mdazzle. I bought the same unit from Costco. I have the same experience as he mentioned in his review. It does not recognize several places that are 4 to 5 years old developments. For example, a lot of addresses in 2 to 3 year old development in ZIP 97229 do not get recognized. in some other cases (15 years or more old business establishments), it takes close to the place which is about 300 to 500 yds away.
I wanted to keep this unit, however, leaning towards returning it. I will check to see if any upgrade, etc. available or not to fix the problems that I am experiencing.

Bad directions
by abbyjiang ,Jan 26 '07
Pros: large screen Cons: wrong directions.
I bought this in Cosco too. The screen size is good, but it often gives wrong directions. When I drove on highway with multi-exits on the right, it told me: "keep right and leave the highway" I did not know which highway (name or number of the highway, south or north) to go? Also, another time, it told me to leave the highway, as soon as I left, it told me to go back again. I knew the area well, did not listen to it. I have to return the Plenio to Cosco. It is dangerous, when you have to make a quick decision when you are driving.
