Pros: Gently exfoliates, leaves skin soft, smooth, and moisturized Cons: Turns into mush if left in water, slight scratchy-feel with too much pressure
I love sampling beauty products. Samples give me the opportunity to test the product out before committing to purchasing it, weeding out the poor performing products and saving a dollar or two. When I saw that Dove was offering samples on their ...
Pros: cleans well, exfoliates, is for sensitive skin Cons: may not exfoliate enough for some
Growing up, I didnt have a choice about which bar soaps were in our shower. I had to make do with what my mother always bought, which was usually Irish Spring or Ivory. Ivory has never been good to my skin, so when I got a little older and started ...
Pros: Gentle enough to use everyday! Cons: Doesn't do much in the area of exfoliating...super gentle!
I've always loved Dove cleansing bars. They are very gentle and have a soft and girly scent. So when I saw the Dove Exfoliating Bar, I had to of course try it! Read on to see how it performed. Dove Exfoliating Bar ...
Normally I use body wash, but I decided to give a bar soap a try for a change. I have been using Dove Exfoliating Bar. I am an exfoliation fanatic and so using this soap was a logical choice for me. It combined cleansing and scrubbing in one easy ...
Pros: Dove products have always been recommended for people with sensitive skin; tried & proven! Cons: This product can't be used for extended or prolonged periods by persons w/sensitive skin.
I have been using Dove products for years. I have tried other brands of bath soaps, because I am a fragrance fanatic. I livid about soft, smooth, and moisturized skin. Well, to make a long story short; I have used Caress, Ivory, Irish Spring, Camay, and ...
Gave Me An Allergic Reaction by morrisun ,Feb 06 '07
Pros: Smells nice Cons: Gave me a horrible, itchy rash
I have always used Dove products, I prefer the plain Dove soap over most other soaps on the market.
For some reason my husband purchased the Dove Exfoliating Bar and after I used it twice I developed a horribly itchy, slightly raised rash over all of the areas on my body I had used the soap.
Everything else in my daily routine had remained the same, the only new item was this soap. I agree with the other person who said to try this product before you go out and buy 2 or 3 bars of it.
Cant use for a long period of time!! by sillytweety25 ,Oct 10 '05
Pros: smells good and leaves a fresh feeling Cons: it stops working after using it for a long period of time
this soap smells good and leaves your face feeling fresh BUT it made me break out. if u use it for a long time the results decreases. the first time i used it, it worked GREAT!! but then as i continued to use it , it sort of stopped working and my face was getting really bad. I finally just started wearing foundation all of the time and not washing it off before bed and my skin is great i haven't had a major break out sine maybe 2 years ago. sure i get maybe 1 or 2 but my face isnt all covered and it makes scars fade. HOPE THIS HELPS!!
Nothing special. Stops lathering toward end of the bar! by ballz97fm ,Apr 25 '07
Pros: Smells nice, the little scratchies are nice to have Cons: Stops lathering as bar gets smaller
Even if it's not exfoliating, it's a cute gimmick. I like the idea of it exfoliating. Honestly, sometimes you get to a part of the bar where none of the little scratchies are even exposed. At that point, you're basically just using a regular bar of Dove. (Anyway, a Rice Krispies bar will exfoliate your skin better than this soap ever will.)
It smells great (as does the original Dove) but lots of soaps smell nice.
I do have dry skin at times but I'm not sure I even WANT an entire quarter-cup of moisturizing cream in my bar of soap. I want to know that there's some soap going on there too. After all, I want it to CLEAN me.
My biggest concern--and the reason I would definitely not recommend this soap--is that each and every single bar loses it's lathering capability as the bar gets smaller. I end up tossing the bar when it's still quite sizable so I can start a new one and get some lather.
This reminds me: I have to put Ivory on my shopping list...
BUYER BEWARE!! Allergic Reaction!! by dovelover ,Feb 12 '08
Pros: Thank God they make regular Dove otherwise I'd be finding a new bath soap! Cons: Thank God they make regular Dove otherwise I'd be finding a new bath soap!
I have finally found out what has been irritating my face and neck so horribly !!
The rash is red and raised, much like Poison Ivy!
I have bought Dove for 20 plus, years.
You couldn't pay me to use Dove Exfoliating Bar again!
In fact, we have gone through our decorative bowl of opened- yet, unused Dove Bars and the Exfoliating Bars have gone in the GARBAGE!
FYI, it's the Bars with the little blue specks in it!
Pros: None Cons: Allergic reaction: Your skin will itch like crazy for days on end
This soap made me itch like crazy for days on end. I have never had an allergic reaction to soap before so I didn't know it was the soap at first. I thought my skin was going to rip off from all the itching I had on my legs. The moment I switched back to my regular use of Dove Winter Care soap, I felt better right away. What the hell??? THIS SOAP SUCKS!!!!!!!!
