Dyson DC07 Allergy Blue/Turquoise Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Pros: It is a mechanical wonder and I hope Dyson wins awards for such a phenomenon.
Cons: It took us 20 min to assemble, and we called the help line for directions.

I purchased this off of ebay, was refurbished for 340.00 and I could not have been more pleased. I have three dogs and my chairs and couch were a mess. I bought it and used it with the intention that if it did not work as advertised I would return it the next day. WOW, I pulled 6 ounces of hair and dirt off my couch alone (yes, I did weigh it on my scale).
If anyone has reservations about this quality product, don't worry. It actually works as intended.

Pros: Well Worth The Investment For A REAL Deep Clean And Dog Hair Is GONE!
Cons: vacuum's hose suction be a bit of an arm wrestling match.

This vacuum was a total embarrassment!

We have a 3-year old home that was (supposedly) well kept up!

We vacuumed an area about 3x3 foot TWICE and pulled more dust and carpet fibers that we normally got with a more popular brand named upright on the whole floor!

Sure, it may be a bit spendy - but I wish we had it years ago - it's well worth it!

NOW FOR WHAT IS NOT SO RIGHT WITH IT:

1 - When you bump into the wall the brush hits the housing. The housing could be a bit sturdier!

2 - With all of the vacuum's suction the extension hose can be a bit of an arm wrestling match on the stairs and ceiling fans.

All In All - It Is Well Worth The Investment Just To Get A REAL Deep Clean And The Dog Hair Is GONE!

After 2 Hoovers and 1 Dirt Devil, I picked up this Dyson- I have a cat and it sheds a lot, my wife has "allergies" to the cat and she complained about her "allergies" a lot with the other machines. The Hoover I had was about $250 so when I spent the $450 on the Dyson it hurt, but I hoped what I had heard about its quality and inability to lose suction was true. I vacuumed with the Hoover first and picked up a bunch of hair, then I figured I would vacuum with the Dyson- what it picked up disgusted me. There was more fine dust and hair than I thought possible IMMEDIATELY after a previous session. Needless to say I was sold. It is easy to manuever, I love the design and the ease of use. Emptying the collection tank is so simple and the wand is amazing for reaching the top of windows. All in all a simply wonderful machine and wouldn't you know that my wife hasn't complained about her "allergies" since we received the vacuum. A++

Pros: Light, manuevers well, long cord, long extensions, quiet(doesnt scare my son), funky modern design
Cons: NONE!!

Contrary to other peoples opinions, the Dyson DC07 is the best vacuum on the whole planet. We had a cheap Bissel Bagless and let me tell you, it totally sucked. The hose was always clogged. My husband bought me a Dyson because I always brought it up how my neighbor had one and raved about it. He finally gave in. As soon as I got home, I vacuumed my whole house which I had already vacuumed that day. The dirt compartment was completely full. Yuck! To think I have been letting my 16 month old son run around on that filth.

I would recomend this vacuum to any one, especially those who have children or pets. It works great picking pet hair. Nothing, NOTHING can compair to the Dyson DC07 Vacuum.

Pros: Sucks up everything in it's path. Comes with great set of tools to get everywhere.
Cons: Price is a little high in my opinion.

This thing is great. I am a veterinarian so I own quite a few pets in all shapes and sizes. Let me tell you first hand, if you own pets, this thing gets the hair up with no problem. Hair that my other vacuum had been missing all this time came up and left the rooms cleaner smelling and obviously cleaner looking. I was resigned to the fact that vacuums just can't pick everything up, so I used to get my vacuum shampooed every six months. Well, it doesn't look like it'll need it that often after all. This vacuum works, and it works great.

Pros: No bags
Cons: No suction, BIn fills up to fast, and falls apart

This machine is terrible. we have hardwood floors threw are whole home. we had a Kirby and rainbow. When we bought down the dyson. I cant even pick up birdseed from the floors. We have a Filter queen now it was more expensive but the Dyson cant pick up anything and has tore all of our carpets apart. It ripped the threads right out. If you want a good machine get a Filter Queen.

Pros: IT WORKED WELL FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS
Cons: TOO MUCH MONEY FOR A MACHINE THAT FAILS 4 TIMES IN TWO YEARS.

Our Dyson was purchased in September 2004 and the guarantee at that time was 2 years. In the two years of ownership it has needed shop repair 4 times 1 of which took a month and the others about 1 week each. It now needs repairs again and was told by Dyson we were out of luck, as the guarantee was up. In my opinion the Dyson would not rate a one STAR out of 5. It just keeps falling apart!

Pros: Does a great job of vacuuming most of my house and it's a work horse.
Cons: It's not so great on low-pile Berber carpet. It's awkward to lug up stairs.

I bought The Animal, and it *is* a superior upgrade from the last vacuum cleaner I had. However, it does not vacuum the low pile Berber in my family room as well as I thought it would for the high price. I also did not realize that all of these Dysons are the same vacuum and just marketed for various functions by including different tools and changing the color. I wish I had spent less and bought the yellow Dyson, which seems to just be a stripped down version of the purple one at a lower price. I don't even use a couple of attachments that came with this vacuum, such as the attachment that allows you to vacuum under furniture. It is very easy to empty, and I like not having to deal with bags. I have a house full of stairs so it can be heavy and unwieldy to drag up and down staircases. If you grab the canister handle to help hoist the vacuum up the stairs, it can sometimes disconnect the canister from the vacuum.

Pros: No loss suction. Warranty/Customer Service. Ability to pick-up tons of pet hair.
Cons: Price, Telescoping tool (have to reverse the stick to get best usage)

My family has gone through quite a few vacuum cleaners in our short family life. Finally, we bit the bullet and purchased a Dyson DC-7 since going through 3 vacuums in 4 years. What a positive investment this was. Yes, it took a while to get over the price we paid, but only after the first week or two. We had two dogs and a cat. These animals were terrible shedders for being short haired. The Dyson did the job and did it well. Actually, the Dyson is still going strong after approx 6 years of use. The only drawback to this unit is the telescoping wand. Once removed, it really needs to be "reversed" for the best use of the piece. If you are thinking about purchasing a new vacuum, dig deep and get yourself a Dyson.

Pros: Awesome at removing pet hair, easy to use attachments.
Cons: Price (not really a con) worth every penny.

I bought this to replace my old Hoover. I have two dogs and a cat in the house. I thought my carpets were clean before I got the Dyson. Wrong!! This machine is amazing at getting pet hair, dirt and almost anything out of my carpets. The attachments are easy to use and it is simple to go from cleaning carpets to hardwood/vinyl floors. The turbo tool works great for getting pet hair off my couch. I was worried about the high price, but after two months of using the Dyson it is worth every penny.

Pros: Great suction, easy cleanup, good attachments, appreciate the extension hose
Cons: a bit heavy and can scratch the hardwood if the brush is out of alignment.

I have had the Dyson DC07 Animal for over 5 years now. It still has amazing suction. My husband uses it in the garage and basement for dust/particle clean up and then back in the house on the carpets. No change in the suction.

Actually, it pulls so much pet hair up, I normally have to empty the canister after each room. Granted, I should probably vacuum more than once a week! (I have two cats and one dog)

I broke the flat attachment when I was a bit aggressive on the stair cleaning. However, it was very easy to order a replacement from Dyson.

i got the Dyson DC07 yesterday, and the cleaning crew had come in and cleaned all my floors as well as the entire carpeting in the house....so I figured i will not have too much dust to empty for the new vacuum,right? wrong!
The cleaning crew bring a Oreck with them and claim that it really does a good job.It did i thought,until I used my new Dyson.....I could not believe the amount of dust it picked up.The dust jar was almost to the max.It is very powerful.I am so impressed that I am going to buy one for my in-laws.

Pros: Easy to use, great suction, easy to clean, reaches everything!
Cons: Not good for throw rugs, beater bar has to be cleaned often!

I have had several vacs this one outdoes them all, I would highly recommend this vac to family and friends, I was amazed at the cleaning power, I was surprised what my Hoover Windtunnel Left behind, dog hair, no more with this vac.

Pros: Design. Lightweight. Easy to empty. And above all else...it NEVER loses suction! AMAZING!
Cons: The initial price. But, it's worth it in the long run!

The DC 07 is the basic machine and it works like gangbusters! Folks who complain about it not working as advertised are doing something wrong. They should take lessons on reading the instructions. It is a flawless and bagless design that does what it claims. It is the upright vacuum supreme built for the consumer! It stands above all the rest in suction and cleaning ability. There is none better on the market today.

Cons: if only it's durability were as good as it's suction making it worth the price

This vacuum has had it pretty easy, we are a family of 3, owned 3 bedrm homes and have no pets. I thought it was great on our wall2wall carpet in CT, until the stair attchmt broke off within 2 yrs of purchasing - and I am meticulous about taking care of things. At the time Dyson didn't have a cust serv # to call for a help/replacement. Occasionally it would smell as though it were overheating so I would give it a rest. After 3.5 yrs, the hose has almost completely ripped from it's collar. $400 was steep for a vacuum, normally my domestic brand vacs lasted approx 10 years, so I assumed it would pay for itself. It is a pain to use attachments and doesn't work well on the tile in our AZ home.
