Pros: Powerfull suction, less dust thrown into the air while using, long cord Cons: Heavy, awkward attachment wand, stiff brushes ruin carpets, cleaning the canister is not allergy friendly
First the good:I have allergies which always acted up when I used my old vacuum. With the Dyson, there is much less dust thrown into the air so this is not a problem any more. The Dyson also has powerful suction. I was quite impressed at ...

Pros: great suction with hose only, gets a lot of dust. Cons: Could use some improvements.
This vacuum would be awesome if I were a single gal: always at work and only vacuuming once a week because my floor is never touched, but this is not my life. I have a husband, 4 kids, 2 cats and a dog! While the Dyson seems great at picking up dust, I ...

Pros: Trash empties easily. Amazing suction, no dust blows out during vacuuming. Cons: Tips over easily. If rotating furniture brush isnt pushed on all the way, brush stops.
I have owned this vacuum for about 6 months now. This is the best vacuum I have ever owned. I am constantly amazed at the amount of dirt & debris it picks up. I read the reviews on the vacuum before I purchased it and then finally just took the plunge ...

Pros: Good suction - no filters. Cons: See above comments.
I purchased the vacuum 2 weeks ago. Vacuumed 7 or so times. We have 3 adults 3 kids and a golden retriever in our house. I will write my cons here- too much to fit in one place. The Cons: 1. Tools are not the handiest, especially going ...

Pros: Excellent cleaning ability, a simple machine that WORKS! Cons: awkward to remove the extension wand.
This is actually our very first "real" vacuum purchase, so we don't have much to compare it with, BUT.... we've had this one for two years and I can tell you how its going. Things we love about it: - Its relatively light and easy to maneuver ...

Pros: quiet, bagless, roller stops when standing upright, manual brush stop Cons: telescoping handle and handle just needs to be a tube without the top "loop"
I just purchased the Dyson "yellow" vac last night and I have to say that I am not that impressed with it. I have a Fantom Fury that was purchased 7 or 8 years ago and it had worked flawlessly until a couple of weeks ago when the foot lever that locks ...

Pros: Allergy relief! Love just emptying the canister into a trash bag. Cons: Attachments a little tricky to attach/detach from body of vacuum.
After reading lots of comments on epinions and Amazon, I decided to buy the Animal. I've only had it a short time, but there seem to be immediate results in terms of allergy relief. I live with 5 birds (not allergic to them) and one short-haired cat ...

Pros: You get your money's worth
Cons: Hose usage is not convenient for quick use
We got this vacuum for our wedding gift and we absolutely love it. I'm in the remodeling business and I was amazed at how well it picked up sheet rock debris and saw dust. I hardly have to use my shop vac at all since we've gotten this vacuum. It's ...

Pros: Great for dog hair; well-designed; hose length; powerful suction; easy maintenance. Cons: Could we get a kibble attachment for the kitchen floor?
I have 2 Great Pyrenees (long outer coat, plus lush dense undercoat) plus a cat and had been frustrated with all of the vacuums I had tried. My most recent, a Hoover Wind Tunnel, was constantly breaking belts, and really was not picking the hair up all ...

Pros: Long power cord Cons: heavy, bad on hard floors
I've had the Animal for about 6 months now and gave it my best shot. I come from a canister background, so I have really grown to hate the uprights in general. The Animal is very heavy with a high profile that does not fit under tables. If you hit the ...

Pros: length of cord sucking power Cons: price canister opens too easily
When my old hoover finally decided to retire, i had to pick up a new vacuum. After watching the dyson commercials about how powerful they are, and no bags, I decided to give them a try. At first I was apprehensive about paying that much ...

Pros: Everything about the Dyson is a pro. Cons: Does not clean by itself yet. Hoping for a robot version.
Replaced my $2,000.00 Rainbow System with a $490.00 Dyson. Just sorry I did not hear or read about Dyson before the Rainbow sales people got a hold of me. Would be $2,000.00 richer now, and it would have saved me from a year of muscle aches in my back ...

Pros: It sucks up the dust. If you can get it to the dust. Cons: I would not recommend it for anyone under six feet tall.
I am a woman, five six and 135 pounds, and I find this vacuum very difficult to use. It is quite heavy, over twenty pounds, and is hard to maneuver. You really can only push it straight forward and straight back. The wheels could be on a small golf ...

Pros: Awesome suction, excellent bagless design, long cord. Cons: Quick draw wand isn't so quick.
This vacuum is incredible-definitely worth the money! It sucks amazing amounts of dirt out of the carpet, not to mention pet fur and pollen. In addition, its quiet enough to use on bare floors without creating an insane amount of noise. ...

Pros: You will be surprised at how much junk your standard vac missed. Cons: Messy to empty but still worth it. Attachment hose should have stronger suction.
Yes the title could be misleading but I have to say that after 1 year and going strong, I'm still impressed. I always hesitate writing reviews too soon and I feel one year is ample time to give a complete thorough review. In 2005 our Hoover Wind ...
