Pros: Cleans carpets ok. Cons: Useless attachments, not good on bare floors, much better machines out there for the money.
I have read nearly all of the many reviews on the Dyson vacuum. I'm not writing this review to talk negative about this machine or to praise it, but rather give a logical review and hope it can help make a vacuum purchase decision that is best for you. ...

Pros: Powerful suction, no bags. An amazing feat of marketing. Cons: One of the most over-hyped, poorly designed things in the great wide world.
I'm sure that the main reason people buy a vacuum is to clean things. Lots of reviews here praise the Dyson for it's suction power, but that is only one part of the equation. In my opinion, the Dyson fails miserably as a design for cleaning things. ...

Pros: Amazing. Cons: On Board attatchments not very good. except for mini turbine head.
first let me tell you this. we found a coupon code online for Linens n Things for 25% off any single item. and we used the 'pick up in store' feature on their website. so after we applied the coupon code on the website we got $132 off. and picked it up ...

Pros: Clean easy canister emptying, incredible suction, long reach hose, hard floors & carpets, no filters2change Cons: Poor documentation
My review of the Dyson DC17 Animal: I can't believe I spent so much money on a vacuum cleaner, but... I love this machine. Let me count the ways... - Super long cord. I can vacuum nearly my entire upstairs (2 bedrooms and a 20x20 loft) without ...

Pros: Powerful rotating bristles, powerful suction, cleaning power. Cons: Price, documentation and small canister capacity.
"What's the big deal about, it's just a vacuum cleaner?" That's what I said after looking at the Dyson DC17 in the store. Yeah right, a $549 vacuum cleaner that is. C'mon, is ANY vacuum cleaner really worth 500 bucks? Oh no, it's not just ...

Pros: Powerful, on-board attachments, durable, very well designed, and 5-year warranty. Cons: Clear plastic will dull, air powered brush is so-so.
We have had our DC07 for about 3 years and decided we were ready to upgrade. If you have researched the Dyson family of vacuums, you know that there is a price swing of over $100 between the DC07 and DC17 series. Can I say it is worth $100 more? So ...

Pros: Picks up everything, no bags required, HEPA filter. Cons: Cost. (But worth every penny)
I purchased the DC17 Animal about a month ago. One thing about Dyson is that they have so many models available. You can go to their website, www.dyson.com and check out what each of the models offer prior to making your final decision. You will see ...

Pros: Suction!
Good looks (I'm partial to purple)
Lightweight
Easy maneuverability
Not too noisy Cons: Cord storage
Hose stiffness
Lack of complete canister emptying
"Dirtyness" of canister
I bought a Dyson DC 17 Animal about a week ago. While I was vacuuming (with my old vacuum, a hand-me-down Sanyo Performax 10amp) I watched as clouds of dust spewed from the machine and bits of dirt simply bounced around on the carpet in front of the ...

Pros: Very long cord -
Great suction -
Glides very smoothly Cons: Price -
Attachment hose and wand too short -
Too awkward to use -
Heavy
I just bought the DC17 today and was so excited to get home and use it and prove to my family that it is far superior. You can imagine my disgust when I found it's not as superior as they claim. While it does have great suction and does get more than the ...

Pros: The suction is great. It can go on carpet or hardwood floors. Cord is long. Cons: Wish the cord was a detractable one
I had bought the dyson because we wanted a vacuum that I didn't have to replace all the time. With two little kids, dogs, and allergies I needed something that was going to help me with as little effort as possible. I have had my dyson ...

Pros: Great suction, useful attachments, easy to empty, fairly quiet Cons: No easy way of storing attachments, pricey
I've wanted a Dyson vacuum cleaner for years and finally purchased the vacuum of my dreams from Target. At first, I thought the floor setting must be off because the vacuum cleaner was so quiet (it wasn't off)! The suction is excellent on this vacuum, ...

Pros: Suction, attachments Cons: price
I have been married for over 20 years and I have owned my share of vacuums. The other vacuums out there--they don't last, they don't clean, they just "suck"--and not literally. After one more Hoover failed me, I told my husband enough was enough and ...

Pros: Incredible suction. Cons: Bit pricey.
This product was given to me as a gift. The vacuum that I had was working fine - or so I thought until I lit up this new Dyson. The suction on this machine is amazing. I couldn't believe what came up from the carpet. The bagless feature is nice, my ...

Pros: Excellent suction on carpet, especially great for pet
hair and dander. Cons: Works on bare floors, but I've used better.
I originally purchased the DC14 Animal, unfortunately, due to no fault of Dyson, I had to take it back and trade it in for the DC17. WOWWEE!! The DC17 has suction like you wouldn't believe, it pulled up stuff that the DC14 wasn't able to get out of my ...
