Pros: NOT ALOT IN MY BOOK Cons: EXPENSIVE , Clogs and loses suction, Tools fall off everytime
I purchased my Dyson in 2004 from Costco for about $449 mainly because of the Dyson ads. At first I loved it and then a part broke which was quickly replaced by Dyson. I can't blame Dyson for my dog chewing the cord so we taped that and sent for a new ...

Pros: None for cleaning carpet. It's good on bare floors. Cons: Very over-advertised, over-rated vacuum. Very flimsy. Plastic snaps hold it together not screws.
Using a DC-17 I found that the pick up on plush carpets was average at best. I also noticed a great deal of carpet fuzz that appeared to be shaved off the top of the carpet(not the normal bleed off of overwoven strands you get with most vacuum ...

Pros: ease of use, power/suction, attachments, features Cons: no light, telescopic wand/hose could still be a bit longer
The Dyson Animal is the best vacuum I have ever owned. It is powerful, doesn't lose suction, and easy to clean/care for. I have owned many vacuums and have reviewed a couple on Epinions. I have to say that the Dyson Animal is my favorite. Why is it my ...

Pros: suction is amazing Cons: expensive, heavy, stair attachment completely worthless, documentation is HORRIBLE, wand is awkward to use
I am amazed that something can actually pick up the dog hair in my carpeting. We used to change the bag in our old vacuum at least 2 or 3 times a month just to keep the suction going and the smell down. I was mortified after using this the first time ...

Pros: Product quality, price vs value...and customer service, it is all superior. Cons: you would think the cord would be retractable in this price range.
I read every review, good and bad, on the Dyson site and others before purchasing. I even called Dyson several times in one day, to ask questions, (as I read the reviews and Yes they answered everytime!) people complained about the manual being hard to ...

Pros: Highly efficient cleaning; easy to use; well-designed Cons: It takes a while to get used to using the hose
I'll admit I'm a gadget geek. I've had a variety of vacuum cleaners of varying sizes and styles. The quality varied as much as the shapes, but none of them seemed to do the trick -- especially with a household of one dog, three cats and a bird. I ...

Pros: Performance and value Cons: I didn't own one sooner.
I did a lot of research before buying this vacuum. The biggest drawback being the price. Luckily, Kohl's had a big sale and we got a rare 30% off from their catalog promo. So we ended up getting this unit for the price of the regular upright all floors ...

Pros: Picks up dog hair very well Cons: Attachments
I have had this vacuum for a year now and I love it. It replaced my Sears Kenmore which at the time had a higher rating on Consumer reports. This vacuum does a great job of picking up the hair that is left all over the house by my Shelties. ...

Pros: Doesn't lose suction as you vacuum. Cons: Doesn't start out with adequate suction
When I first opened the box, I was disappointed by how toy-like all the parts were. It's also very heavy, especially since my last few vacuums were Orecks. Turning in it on, it was pretty loud but not the loudest. I found it very hard to maneuver, ...

Pros: The amazing job it does. Even I can unMistakably see is. Cons: none, whatsoever.
The “Dyson” animal rules. I got my mom a “Dyson” for Christmas. It was the “Dyson Animal”. I was expecting great things from this vacuum, since I have heard all the reviews and it cost more than a regular vacuum. And the vacuum came through. First ...

Pros: Great suction, style and ease of use! A+++ Cons: Haven't run across any yet.
First off, I have to say that the first vacuum I ever owned was an Electrolux. It was a wonderful vacuum and it lasted for over 12 years! I have 2 Shelties...they have long hair that is constantly shedding. Needless to say, I vacuum A LOT! My vacuum ...

Pros: Easy to maneuver, cleans like crazy, well designed Cons: Horrible manual, needs retractable cord
We have two dogs (formerly four) and SIX CATS. What can I say, we are animal lovers! After passing through two vacs in two years (a Fantom and a Hoover Windtunnel) we finally decided to drop six hundred dollars, give or take, on the Dyson. Like many ...

Pros: Quality on board attachments, long hose, extra long plug cord. Cons: Two attachments not on board, hose has one part that extends to only one length.
I like the on board attachments but there are two pieces that do not stay on board - the hard floor attachment and the furniture attachment - both were a little confusing to attach to the hose - there were no clear instructions. Customer service is very ...

Pros: Very easy to use. Washable parts. Cons: A little expensive, but works well.
I have had this vacuum for about a year, and have not had a single problem with it. It is by far the best that I have owned in my 31 years of life. I have used Dirt Devils, Eurekas, Rainbows, Kirbys, Orecks, and Minuteman for home and/or work. This ...

Pros: Works great! No bags, belts, or filters to be replaced. Cons: A retractable cord would be nice.
One would almost have to laugh to see someone pay $500 for a vacuum, but when all the facts are weighed, $500 is actually a great price for a great product. First, let me say I used to be a big Consumer Reports advocate. I bought my last Hoover ...
