Pros: Could suck the chrome off of a trailer hitch. Cons: A little heavy, but not too bad.
W00T! This thing sucks like a big giant sucking thing, and I mean that in the best way possible. My old, but not that old, Hoover upright was just not doing the job. It would regularly clog up with cat hair and dust and we'd have to take it outside ...

Pros: It never loses suction, very powerful, many attachments. A+A+A+ Cons: It is a little heavy.
My Dyson has been the best vacuum I have ever owned. Even though it was a little more expensive I feel it is worth the money. The animal comes with many attachments which are good for any type of animal hair on chairs or furniture. I bought this ...

Pros: Cleans great. No bags or filters to change. Cons: On board wand difficult to use at first.
My wife and I have been using our eight year old Dirt Devil bagless vacuum but last week we bought new living room furniture and prior to having it delivered I decided to vacuum and them steam clean our carpets. While steam cleaning I could not help but ...

Pros: Powerful Suction, Bagless, Helps People With Allergies, Onboard Attachments and Suction Hose. Cons: Heavy, Pricey but worth it.
After many years of denying that any vacuum could pick up all of the hair and dirt in our carpets, we finally decided to spend the money on a Dyson. Our carpets are used very hard and the combination of cat hair, dirt and dust from our pellet and coal ...

Pros: MINIMIZES PET HAIR, REDUCES ALLERGENS IN AIR, POWERFUL SUCTION, FANCY STYLE Cons: PRICE IS A BIT HIGH, A BIT HEAVY AS WELL
ARE YOU FED UP WITH THE VACUUM THAT YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND/OR WIFE BOUGHT WHEN YOU FIRST GOT MARRIED OVER TWENTY YEARS AGO?? WELL, THE MARKET HAS COME OUT WITH A PLENTY MORE SINCE THEN AND IT JUST SO HAPPENS THAT THE DYSON DC17 IS ONE OF THEM. ...

Pros: sturdy design, powerful suction, great/convenient attachments, long power cord Cons: suction so powerful that hose can be hard to maneuver
I have had my Dyson Aminal for about a week and am very happy with it. I was planning on purchasing an Oreck Halo, but in my research I compared the Oreck to the Dyson and found several sites where direct usage comparisons had been done and ...

Pros: Good suction, good tools, good design excellent brush. All around works well. Cons: Trouble traversing the "lip" between uneven floor surfaces. Can't lie down and get under furniture.
So far I'm happy with my Dyson DC-17 Animal even though $500 does feel like a lot to pay. It's got powerful suction, a good design, versatile tools, and a robust brush that really gets the grit and hair out of my carpets. Let's get the bad stuff out ...

Pros: Lots of suction Cons: Belt for roller brush broke within a couple of months
I previously owned a Dyson DC11, which is a canister style vacuum. It was a fine vacuum for the time I owned it before someone broke it. I eventually replaced it with the DC17 Animal upright vacuum for slightly a bit more money. There is no question ...

Pros: It does not lose suction and it really works! Cons: Takes some getting used to and can be unwieldy and intimidating at first.
Well, I have had my Dyson for a week and have vacuumed twice with it now. I am glad I did not write this review after the first time I used it because it does take a bit of getting used to and can be a bit unwieldy at times. However, after the second ...

Pros: Great suction power, nice long cord. Cons: Cord doesn't retract. Heavy and bulky.
My husband went to Sears and bought this vacuum for me after watching the lady there struggle to show us how this vacuum works. I was not very impressed with her struggling but thought the suction power to vacuum was awesome. I clean houses that have ...

Pros: suction is amazing Cons: expensive, heavy, stair attachment completely worthless, documentation is HORRIBLE, wand is awkward to use
I am amazed that something can actually pick up the dog hair in my carpeting. We used to change the bag in our old vacuum at least 2 or 3 times a month just to keep the suction going and the smell down. I was mortified after using this the first time ...

Pros: Nice to see the dirt that others leave behind. Cons: Made from plastic. Can't replace clips, have to replace whole cylinder.
I paid $500 for the dyson about 2-3 years ago. Loved it for when it did. The best machine ever when you have pets. However, most of it is plastic. Plastic clips break easyily but you can't just replace the clip. By bottom clip broke so I would need to ...

Pros: Great Suction, and No bags Cons: To great of suction "sometimes", messy when emptying container
I bought the Dyson DC17 last week at Sams Club. Its the purple one, but it doesn't contain the word "Animal". So I'm gathering its the same as all the other reviews. Like the others, the documentation sucked (BAD). But also, the vacuum sucked,(GOOD). It ...
