Pros: Nice to see the dirt that others leave behind. Cons: Made from plastic. Can't replace clips, have to replace whole cylinder.
I paid $500 for the dyson about 2-3 years ago. Loved it for when it did. The best machine ever when you have pets. However, most of it is plastic. Plastic clips break easyily but you can't just replace the clip. By bottom clip broke so I would need to ...

Pros: Great Suction, and No bags Cons: To great of suction "sometimes", messy when emptying container
I bought the Dyson DC17 last week at Sams Club. Its the purple one, but it doesn't contain the word "Animal". So I'm gathering its the same as all the other reviews. Like the others, the documentation sucked (BAD). But also, the vacuum sucked,(GOOD). It ...

Pros: suction is amazing Cons: expensive, heavy, stair attachment completely worthless, documentation is HORRIBLE, wand is awkward to use
I am amazed that something can actually pick up the dog hair in my carpeting. We used to change the bag in our old vacuum at least 2 or 3 times a month just to keep the suction going and the smell down. I was mortified after using this the first time ...

Pros: Quality on board attachments, long hose, extra long plug cord. Cons: Two attachments not on board, hose has one part that extends to only one length.
I like the on board attachments but there are two pieces that do not stay on board - the hard floor attachment and the furniture attachment - both were a little confusing to attach to the hose - there were no clear instructions. Customer service is very ...

Pros: It does not lose suction and it really works! Cons: Takes some getting used to and can be unwieldy and intimidating at first.
Well, I have had my Dyson for a week and have vacuumed twice with it now. I am glad I did not write this review after the first time I used it because it does take a bit of getting used to and can be a bit unwieldy at times. However, after the second ...

Pros: Great suction power, nice long cord. Cons: Cord doesn't retract. Heavy and bulky.
My husband went to Sears and bought this vacuum for me after watching the lady there struggle to show us how this vacuum works. I was not very impressed with her struggling but thought the suction power to vacuum was awesome. I clean houses that have ...

Pros: Lots of suction Cons: Belt for roller brush broke within a couple of months
I previously owned a Dyson DC11, which is a canister style vacuum. It was a fine vacuum for the time I owned it before someone broke it. I eventually replaced it with the DC17 Animal upright vacuum for slightly a bit more money. There is no question ...

Pros: Picks up dog hair very well Cons: Attachments
I have had this vacuum for a year now and I love it. It replaced my Sears Kenmore which at the time had a higher rating on Consumer reports. This vacuum does a great job of picking up the hair that is left all over the house by my Shelties. ...

Pros: Very long cord -
Great suction -
Glides very smoothly Cons: Price -
Attachment hose and wand too short -
Too awkward to use -
Heavy
I just bought the DC17 today and was so excited to get home and use it and prove to my family that it is far superior. You can imagine my disgust when I found it's not as superior as they claim. While it does have great suction and does get more than the ...

Pros: Good suction, glides easily, long cord, bagless, 5 year warranty Cons: Attachments don't suck, hose unwieldy in tight spaces, wear+ tear requires service, limited warranty
The Dyson DC17 Animal has very good suction - much better than my previous Hoover WindTunnel canister. And I enjoy not only not having to replace bags, but not having to search all of the local stores for the correct type (which they rarely have!). The ...

Pros: Cleans carpets ok. Cons: Useless attachments, not good on bare floors, much better machines out there for the money.
I have read nearly all of the many reviews on the Dyson vacuum. I'm not writing this review to talk negative about this machine or to praise it, but rather give a logical review and hope it can help make a vacuum purchase decision that is best for you. ...

Pros: good suction Cons: cost
I know people love the dyson animal but i have not been that happy with mine. It makes this horrible sound sometimes, like almost a grinding sound. It only does it when i am using it on the floor on the carpet setting. it is fine when i use the ...

Pros: Good performance y regular carpet. Clean air. Good for allergies. Cons: Not good for long or short carpet. not too good for wood floor
This is a OK vacuum. It doesn't really does what they promise. It pick up better than other vacuums (eureka, Hoover, etc.) But if you have a tall carpet or really short carpet it won't pick up all the hair. You have to empty the container after you used ...

Pros: Lives up to its hype; great suction; picks up pet hair; no bags to buy Cons: Documentation is weak; difficult to maneuver, not good on wood/tile floors
Dyson Animal DC17BackgroundWe moved from a house with a built in Nutone Central Vac System. My wife didn't want another Central Vac primarily because you have to drag out a 25 foot hose to do any vacuum job, big or ...

Pros: works well on carpet. attachments easy to use Cons: bad design flaw (see above)- doesn't work well on bare floors or rugs
I had my Dyson 6 days and while pulling it back while vacuuming I brushed my leather chair and it gouged a big chunk out of it. I hardly touched it. I've been vacuuming 35 years and everyone will touch their furniture occasionally but I have never had ...
