Pros: Delicious blends of spicy and sweet Asian dishes Cons: The staff needs a serious customer service lesson.
For a recent relative's birthday we decided to try something completely different and new. My search led me to E&O Trading Company. E&O Trading Company is located in the beautifully rebuilt Security Building in Downtown San Jose.

Pros: Relaxed atmosphere, good to great food, decent value - all round enjoyable. Cons: Haven't come across one yet after 5 visits.
I've eaten at E&O San Jose on 5 occasions now, usually on a 1st or 2nd date, and it has never failed me. The menu may appear somewhat limited but even as a fairly frequent patron I have still yet to try everything. Maybe this is because I just cannot go...

Our favorite San Jose restaurant!
by annalizzie ,Oct 08 '06
Pros: Great atmosphere, great food, consistent quality. Cons: Occasional service delays but this seems to be the exception more than the rule.
A friend of mine recommended E & O a few years ago, mainly because of the amazingly tasty corn fritters, and my husband and I have been regular customers ever since. Without exaggeration, we have probably eaten here between 30 and 40 times, and we have introduced this great restaurant to many of our friends. Armando, one of the chefs, does a consistently great job with the food, and for the most part, all the other staff are competent and friendly. We have gotten into the habit of ordering the same thing every time (Asian caesar salad, corn fritters and either the Indonesian fried rice, Malaysian shrimp or the ribeye steak) but have tried some of the other dishes (ribs, satays and naans) and have been pleasantly surprised. A final note - do not leave E & O without trying the corn fritters, or you will be missing out on a real treat!
