Pros: Adjustable shoulder straps, adjustable arm rests, cup holder, comfortable seat cover material Cons: Hard to install, harness hard to tighten, seat cover difficult to remove for cleaning
We were looking for a reasonably priced car seat with good reviews, as well as a car seat that could grow with our child. The Eddie Bauer Deluxe Convertible car seat will fit a child 5 lbs to 100 lbs. Plus, I really like a couple great extra features ...

Pros: Gender neutral colors Cons: Had one recall, but we were notified immediately
To be honest, one reason we liked this car seat was because it was Eddie Bauer. That brand has a great reputation of wonderful quality and it also matched our type of car. Bonus! We also liked the color of it (tan) as it seemed to work perfectly for ...

Luxurious and back breaking at the same time
by elizajody ,Feb 07 '07
Pros: - straightforward installation
- easy to adjust shoulder strap height
- fabric removable for washing Cons: - very difficult to tighten the straps
- one handed strap-tightening system is pure fantasy
I bought the Eddie Bauer Deluxe car seat that will take my baby from a newborn to small child (booster). It's not too difficult to install. It is easy to secure the clasps around the baby. I have one complaint about it:
tightening the straps is back breaking!
There is a pull strap at the front. It is not enough to tighten the harness. I could pull and pull all day. Instead I have to reach behind the seat with my right hand, pull the straps from the back while pulling that front strap with my left hand. Even with this method the shoulder straps are not as tight as I'd like. This awkward method works now, as the car seat is still rear-facing, but I don't know what I'll do when it's forward facing.
I made the mistake of buying two (1 for each car), and the salesperson assured me it was the easiest to use (hence the high price).

Harness too high
by dd9736 ,Jul 29 '07
Pros: Soft, good padding, cup holder Cons: 8month old outgrown infant carrier was still too short for the lowest harness
My husband bought this seat when our son outgrew his infant seat by height, because he liked the padding, and the cup holder, and that it was a 3in1 seat. I never liked it, and it was in my house for 1 night, he returned it the next morning and got a Radian instead
I adjusted the seat to the lowest setting, and had it all set in my living room for my 70cm 16.5 lb 8month old son to try, I started with the 2nd to bottom slot position, and set him in the seat, the slots were well above his shoulders, so I took him out, put him on the floor, struggled to lower to the absolute lowest setting, put him back in, buckled him up, and the straps were still a good 1-1.5" above his shoulders. And him having already outgrown his seat by height my husband still insists that I did something wrong, but the harness was in it's lowest position, and he was still to short, no way will a 5lb infant fit in this seat.

traveling in comfort
by apuna73 ,Mar 08 '07
Pros: Easy adjustable straps, easy installation Cons: Difficult to remove car seat cover
I bought this convertible car seat so that it would grow with my daughter and because of the word of mouth I had received. I love this car seat/booster. My only complaint is the cover is a bit hard to remove if you need to wash it.
I have heard people complain about the straps being difficult but if you press the button and pull from the bottom of the straps versus the top portion it is simple to adjust.
