Pros: Offers many attractive improvements over the basic Cosco High-back Cons: Most of these improvements are of limited utility. Fabric stains easily.
Note: This is an update of an earlier review. It turns out that Epinions now has a more appropriate category for this review so I'm moving it. My apologies to those of you who have read it before.
Pros: As a five-point harness seat, still recommended by Consumer Reports Cons: Unsafe and not recommended as a booster seat. As a five-point, you'll find better seats
You mean its not safe? Whyd they make it then? These were the questions asked by my five-year-old son when we found out our car seat was no longer recommended by Consumer Reports. I thought the second ...
Pros: Easy harness strap height and recline adjustment, sporty looks, plush upholstery, easy installation (LATCH) Cons: Inadequate recline for newborns, upholstery gets very warm, straps tend to twist
I bought this car seat for a second car, after purchasing a Britax. The Britax Roundabout is great but I wanted to try a different model instead of buying two of the same thing. On the purely aesthetic side, the Alpha Omega has a nice sporty look that...
Pros: Appearance and Comfort Cons: Everything else
Upon researching more of the Car Seat Categories, I found an error in my placement. I apologize for any inconvenience this has placed on anyone. But I did not feel right in belittling an item I did not own or have experience with. Thank You. ...
Pros: Easy to adjust and install, fits a wide range of children, nice reclining feature Cons: Child must be backward facing to 22 pounds (most other seats are 20 pounds)
After going through a nightmare with my daughter's infant car seat (the kind with the base that stays in the car), I was very careful when choosing a toddler car seat. I bought this car seat because it was touted as being safe, convenient, and easy to...
We recently bought this Eddie Bauer High Back Booster Seat for our 18-month-old daughter to use in my husband's car (a Volvo station wagon). We previously were using an older Cosco convertible seat that had a high base and sides, making it difficult to...
Pros: durable, comfortable, user-friendly, easy to fit and remove, easy adjustments of harness and other bits Cons: expensive, not well-suited for tall children
We bought the Alpha Omega (AO) when our oldest son out-grew his infant seat. That was at 4 months. But hey, this amazing car seat was going to help us right the way through to 70lbs... right?
Wrong. Our son is now 33lbs, and he is too tall for...
Pros: I'm a believer - this is a safe seat! Cons: Adjusting the straps when this seat is rear-facing can be a chore.
I wrote this review a few months ago when we bought this car seat. I was (and am) disappointed with how difficult it is to adjust the straps, as the straps seem to constantly twist. HOWEVER, recent events have made me more a believer in this car seat....
Pros: Has a drink and snack holder, comfortable Cons: not a lot of neck support
This car seat booster is nice because it has a 5-point harness you can use to ensure a more secure buckle system than a lap belt alone. Yet when the children outgrow the 5-point harness you slide the buckles out easily and then use the shoulder belt...
Pros: Fits child from 5-80 pounds, features make it easy to adjust for growing child Cons: The 5-point harness system can be difficult at first
This car seat is great!! I bought it for my second child and I love it so much I am thinking of buying another one to replace my first child's car seat.
This car seat can be used rear facing until the child is 35 pounds, front facing...
Pros: Very easy to use, rear facing up to 35pounds, converts to booster up to 80pounds. Cons: Large car seat that may not fit well in some smaller cars.
Of all the purchases I've made, the Cosco Alpha Omega has been my best investment. It is very easy to use, the straps raise and lower without removing from the seat, and when my child gets older, it converts to a booster seat. I have tried many car seats...
Pros: Versatile car seat, with many nice features. Cons: Hard to get children in and out of the car seat.
My wife and I looked at many different car seats before deciding on this one. We thought that by choosing a seat that grew with our son, we would not need to purchase bigger seats in the future.
Pros: Easy to use, installs securely, kid friendly features Cons: Fabric shows dirt (but it washes easily enough)
We bought this seat to replace an infant/toddler seat when our son outgrew the smaller model. We really liked the Eddie Bauer infant/toddler seat, and were inclined to purchase the bigger version before we compared various models, and after comparison, ...
Pros: Nice colors, comfy padding, cup holder, 5-point restraint, net for goodies and toys, easy installation Cons: a bit difficult to remove 5-point restraint system when not in use
My 4 1/2 year old daughter was ready for a "big girl" booster seat, so we went to Toys R' Us to find one. I had her sit in 13 car seats to test for a good fit and looked over all of the available features of each one.
We bought this seat at Wal-mart 18 months ago, when my newborn son moved into my daughter's Britax Roundabout. We liked that it looked cool, had a five-point harness, armrests and cupholders. The straps are my biggest gripe. After a few months of use, ...
Pros: Nice design, great colors, 5 point harness. Cons: too big for petite children, and the straps twist really easy.
When my daughter outgrew her convertible car seat, we gladly went to Toys R Us to purchase a booster seat. The first seat we saw was the Eddie Bauer sport booster and fell in love with it. She was so excited about sitting in her big girl seat. So, as...
Pros: flexibility: the only car seat you'll need to buy, ever Cons: twice the price of other car seats
When our six-month-old weighed in at 24 pounds, we knew it was time for a new car seat. We'd been using an infant seat that snapped into a stroller, but it just wasn't working for us with him being so heavy.
Pros: Classy-looking, cushy and comfortable, and wider than most others. Cons: None.
I purchased the Eddie Bauer Booster Seat five months ago, so I must apologize for not remembering the cost. However, since I have used the seat several times a day for months, I can tell you all about the seat. First off, I have no questions about the ...
Pros: Not Too Bulky Cons: Cup Holder can only be placed on 1 side, Straps easily wiggled out of
We received this carseat as a gift at the time it seemed perfect. My daughter preferred it over her former car seat, and it seemed to be more comfortable for her.
After a few car trips when the excitement of her new seat wore off it was a struggle...
Pros: sturdy, mid-range price, widely available Cons: NOT safe for use as a belt positioning booster, very hard to use
i expected a lot more from a product w/ the eddie bauer name on it. granted it's a cosco manufactured seat, but eddie bauer is letting them put their name on it, no doubt to give you the idea that this is a high quality product, like eddie bauer...
Pros: This is the only seat you will need. Cons: The straps become twisted VERY easily.
I purchased this car seat when my second child was outgrowing his infant carrier car seat.
Since my children are bigger than the average child, at that time I still needed a car seat that could face backward and hold over 20 pounds. (My son was not...
Pros: looks nice, easy to clean Cons: not user friendly, straps twist-making harness difficult to adjust, buckle not for the independent child
This is, by far, the most difficult seat I've owned yet! With a 3 and 2 y/o, we've been through a few. Every time I load my toddler into the SUV, I have to uninstall this seat to straighten the straps. Otherwise, I don't get a good, snug fit. The buckle...
Pros: Has a cup holder, armrests and pillow for head Cons: Is wider than most seats because of added features
We recently had a baby and he quickly grew out of his infant carrier. His brother (2 yrs old) had a car seat that went from infant to toddler so we put our baby in that seat and bought this seat for our toddler. He loves it! The armrests are great! The...
Pros: Comfortable and easy to use. Cons: Very unsafe feeling due to safety strap when your child is in the seat.
The car seat is expensive and the straps will never be postioned properly unless you rethread after each use. Very unsafe feeling when your child is in this car seat! The strap is made of a thin material which twist and gets jammed in the mechanism that...
Pros: cup holder comes off, well-padded seat Cons: twisted straps, pinching buckle, hard to clean
I purchased the seat because of high ratings from Consumer Reports. I have yet to use it as a belt-positioning booster, but doubt that I ever will (I just purchased a Graco TurboBooster for my 4 year old).
The straps were always getting twisted, the little plastic pieces that the straps feed through kept popping off, the receiving part of the buckle pinched my daughter's legs all the time (even in long pants), and taking off the seat cover to clean it was too complicated (lots of elastics, straps had to be completely removed). Also, no one except me seemed to be able to properly buckle it.
It did seem to have a lot of cushioning in the seat, and my child never complained of discomfort (other than the buckle pinching her). I liked that the cup holder was removable, and we used the mesh pocket on the side all the time to stuff toys in.
Thankfully, I can't speak to its crash-worthiness - but it did get high marks from Consumer Reports.
Great Car seat!!! easy to use by abbby23 ,Oct 28 '03
Pros: Easy to use, Easy to clean, long life expand. Cons: a little expensive but worth it
Hello! I have owned this car seat for about 4 years now, bought it at Sears for $69.99+ taxes, used by my first daughter when she was 2 years old until she turned 4, now my second daughter uses it,we really love this car seat is very easy to carry around, easy instructions, and easy care, with 2 toddlers that used it already (chocolate milk, gummy bears, juice, cookies etc...) it is easiest to clean all the parts come off so you can take off the carseat cover, wash it and comes like new! not like others that is a pain to clean or wash, I would definitely buy another cosco booster seat and recommend it to moms with 1 1/2 year old babies to 4 years old :-)
Great Seat for my 2 guys! by cameron8201 ,Apr 13 '04
Pros: easy installation & strap adjustment, escape-proof chest clip, cool fabrics, LATCH compatible Cons: not for small cars, straps twist easily, pillow height is unadjustable.
I bought my first eddie bauer when my oldest son was 9 months old and absolutely loved it! It was easy to install and easy to adjust the straps! I liked it so much that I have since bought 2 more and am looking around for a 4th! I have 2 in my car and will have 2 in my husbands! I am spoiled and don't like to switch seats all the time even though this is really easy. I like the ease of tightening the shoulder straps to allow for different clothing. I love the cool fabric choices, how vain of me!! The pillow is a little useless for me so far because I have short kids! I also like the high weight limit on this seat. My kids will be able to sit in it all the way through jr. high if I want them to! I really like the chest clip because it is virtually impossible for a little one to undo and escape! Both of my boys seem very comfortable in their seats and always seem to snooze. Overall I really loved this seat and would recommend it to anyone!
eddie bauer high back booster by lalab87 ,Feb 18 '05
Pros: attractive, easy installation, easy clean up Cons: strange buckle
i really like this car seat.i bought it because i already own a similar eddie bauer and like it. seats from 20 to 100 lbs. it is very easy to install and very attractive. mine is a different color than in this picture. it is grey with a square pattern and a yellow stripe outline. it has a cup holder which detaches and the fabric is easy to clean.i love it.
To be honest, does not 'feel' safe and I hate it. I have tried and tried to reinstall and to get it right, but the straps still get stuck and twisted. Making it impossible to securly buckle my child in. I have to say, taking it on an airplane was a breeze. So I will keep it for that purpose only.
Our son loves this seat... by muffy_dt3001 ,Dec 22 '02
Our son loves this seat as much as we do. It is lightweight & travels well on airplanes. He is now 5 and still has years to go in this seat. The seatbelts do get twisted easily though.
This is a great seat... by scottb_dt3000 ,Mar 01 '03
This is a great seat for everyday use that looks somewhat nice (I think most car seats are pretty ugly) The only difficulties we had was setting it in the car properly for the first time and getting the shoulder straps to the right height for our child. Once set-up however, this seat is a breaze and is VERY SECURE in the car. Friends with different seats have asked why our seat doesn't wiggle (at all) and how we can keep the straps so snug without complaints from the occupant. (must be reasonably comfy) I would definitly buy this seat again if I had to.
Pros: Pillow , cup holder attatchment, net pockets Cons: cant find new covers for stained old one
I really hate things that are over trendy and so I was iffy about getting this but it was on sale at a great price. I have two toddlers and so I have another one by cosco and I like this one by Eddie Bauer better! Its good quality. It is easy to take off the side straps for washing that go on the back of the seat, my other brand is more or a pain. If they made a replacement cover I would get another one for my daughter.
