Simplicity Breast Pump: Breast milk is best and this pump helps.

by Mininut Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, May 17 '00
Pros: Affordable, easy to clean, portable, can be used as single or double.
Cons: Storage bottles tend to leak and should not be used to store milk while traveling.
My experience
When my son was born he had problems latching on, not only was he tongue tied (as the DR’s called it) but I had inverted nipples, and the poor baby was numb from my 3 epidural's and a spinal block. Wayne would just not latch...

by KelliandJoseph , Nov 05 '04
Pros: Pumps both breasts at the same time without pain.
Cons: If you use batteries, buy alot of them.
Cut your pumping time in half with the THE FIRST YEARS Electric/Battery Double Breast Pump! I bought it to use when my son was born and used it daily while I was at work. I used THE FIRST YEARS pump for both breasts at the same time, using only one ...

Dollars Down the Drain

by twenty3skidoo , Jun 24 '02
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Uncomfortable, awkward, difficult-to-adjust suction, loud
The only good thing I can really say about this breast pump is that it was cheap. However, purchasing an item that you can not use, no matter how inexpensive it is, is still nothing more than a complete waste of money.

This pump looked nice...

Could suck the paint off a car

by willthing , Mar 20 '01
Pros: none found
Cons: expensive in my area, painful
This pump is so painful that I felt obligated to send a letter to the company to inform them. The following is the letter I sent.

Dear Mr. Sidman,

I would like to bring your attention a complaint I have about the experience I had...

by amanda_breen , Oct 21 '00
Pros: dual pump, portable
Cons: noisy, suction release button in weird place.
I bought The First Years Electric/ battery Breast Pump a few weeks ago, after my old Evenflo Electric pump died on me. Am I glad I bought this pump, let me tell you. Compared to the Evenflo, this pump is so much gentler on my breasts when pumping, I am...

It works...that's a plus!

by porcelina22 , Dec 31 '00
Pros: Hand-held, Storage Bag, Easy to use, Cheap
Cons: Can hurt, isn't meant for full-time pumping
This breast pump is definitely for moms who only plan on pumping every once in a while. I bought this after having a bad experience with a manual breast pump. (I wrote an Epinion about it, check it out!) This was among the least expensive electric...

Dual Pump Disappointment

by tritter72 , Jul 09 '01
Pros: Dual Pump, Option to use electricity or battery
Cons: Lost suction quickly, difficult to position on breasts
I desperately needed a breast pump. My son and I just weren't connecting, and I wanted to keep up my milk supply until a lactation consultant could help us. Not having had a lot of time to do research, my husband and I went to the local Babies R Us....

Update 5/22/04 It isn't dead yet but the motor in the pump is about to go. I have had the pump for about 8 weeks. I pump 5 times a week but would say that with building up the stash and everything I used it about 60-70 times. I still feel like I got a ...

Get a used Ameda instead...

by hungryfrog , Jun 30 '05
Pros: cheap, cheap, cheap
Cons: noisy, awkward, aggravating, lack of options
I have to say, this pump is very inexpensive. It cost around $40 when I got it on sale at Wal-Mart. However, it only lasted about 2 months and I did not use it that much. The part of the pump that controls the cycling broke, leaving it with constant ...

You Get What You Pay For

by jkcmomof3 , Apr 14 '06
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Suction is non-existent compared to pricier pumps, is noisy, awkward, bulky, not a good buy.
Awful experience with this pump. I had to run out and buy this on an emergency basis - I had a double electric hospital grade pump (that cost $175) that broke at 4:00 a.m. one morning because water got into the motor, thanks to my carelessness. I rely on ...

Read me before you buy this pump.

by SuperNovia , Jun 28 '01
Pros: It works quickly.
Cons: Not for moms who need to pump daily.
Like most pumps should, the First Years dual pump carries a seal on the box warning consumers that once the seal is broken the product cannot be returned. I should have checked out Epinions before breaking that seal.

The main problem with...

by berfel , Nov 28 '00
Pros: simple, one handed use, double pumping
Cons: small motor, can burn out with over usage
I am revising my previous epinion because I have discovered a much better way to pump. I guess because I didn't know how much milk I could be getting until I discovered the Medela Lactina Select. This pump was good for an occasional bottle, but as the...
