Pros: Up close look at the brutality of the Holocaust Cons: None, only regret that this book is necessary.
The recent attack on Elie Wiesel by a modern-day Holocaust denier reminded me that I'd never read his masterpiece, "Night," and so when my daughter brought it home for a school project, I borrowed it and raced through it. It is a stunningly ...

Reality book of Nazi death camp horror by truthfulreview ,Jun 08 '05
Pros: The reality of Nazi death camp horror from an author that experienced these cruelties. Cons: It is hard to believe that the horrors in this book are true.
This book provides the reality of Nazi death camp horror of a young Jewish boy, Elie Wiesel. I read this book for a college course and believe that this is a must read book for young adults in the target range of 14-21 years of age. This story shows the cruelty and injustices that Jewish people suffered in concentration camps at Auschwitz and Buchenwald. This story covers Elie Wiesel from a young boy until three days after the liberation of Buchenwald. This book makes no attempt to hide the cruelties of the Nazi concentration camps. The realities of being separated from family members, living with little food and water, working with scarce clothes in the winter, witnessing a rape of a Jewish girl, and witnessing the death of a father are all exposed in this book. I don't think any book provides a better reality check of the injustices and cruelties that Jewish people suffered in concentration camps.
