Pros: Temporarily brightens skin and evens out skin tone Cons: What's not to hate about Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream?
A few weeks ago, I needed some serious shopping therapy and was in the middle of chiding myself for spending too much money when I looked up and saw the Sephora sign. It sang to me like the snake in the desert, but somehow I managed to successfully ...
Pros: Great for all skin types, dermatologically tested Cons: Works out to be $14 per ounce! Use sparingly
A hidden jewel in the Elizabeth Arden range is the Visible Difference Eight-Hour Cream Skin Protectant is one of those great finds, which becomes indispensable in your skin care armory.
I discovered the product quite by chance, when a friend...
Pros: Unique product, a must have Cons: Apply sparingly
I used to use the 8 hour cream a long time ago, and I bought a tube a while back and fell in love with it all over again. First thing I noticed was the sensory recall I got when I smelled it.
It has a unique fragrance, hard to explain, but...
Pros: A very effective healer for dry, chapped skin Cons: Takes a little bit of time for eight hour cream to absorb
As a former Elizabeth Arden beauty adviser (7 years)I will tell you the eight hour cream is very popular. Faithful users of the eight hour cream swear to its healing effects for dry and chapped skin.
Elizabeth Arden herself (the first lady of skin...
I know that Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream consistently makes a number of "Best Products" lists in a number of beauty magazines, so I decided to give it a try. I wasn't expecting miracles, but at $15 a shot, I expected better performance than what...
Pros: None I can see Cons: Way too thick, smells like Listerine, Greasy, OVERPRICED vaseline like product
I fell for the hype, reading about this product in a magazine, and reading the excellent online reviews, I bought some of this cream. First off, it is not a cream but more of a thick salve. The title of "cream" is very misleading. It is a clear ...
Elizabeth Arden 8-Hour Intensive Hand Treatment STINKS! by nmdicke2 ,Jan 02 '07
Pros: outweighed and irrelevant because of the horrible smell of the cream Cons: smells like an herbicide
NOTE: The exact name of the product I'm writing about is Elizabeth Arden EIGHT HOUR CREAM INTENSIVE MOISTURIZING HAND TREATMENT.
Rather than using the phrase smells bad I chose to use a less than genteel word in the title because its the only word that communicates accurately.
A previous reviewer provides lots of information about this cream but I just wanted to second her opinion that this stuff smells astonishingly awful.
In my opinion who cares what it does for skin if it smells like an herbicide?
Also please note that it didn't give me an allergic SKIN reaction but it DID cause me to Break Out in smells that were not easily washed off.
If you want an effective moisturizing hand treatment I recommend one of the top picks in the Real Simple magazine review of hand creams. Top pick has a lovely fragrance. Mine came with soft gloves and smoothed my hands and cuticles quickly!
I mistakenly bought this cream because of the Elizabeth Arden name. Never more.
Pros: Great for first-aid purposes: dry spots, burns, lips, etc. Cons: Shiny and greasy hence cannot be used all over the face
After reading the recommendations from this site, I headed out and purchased the 8 hour cream - for some reason thinking I could slather it on my face during a 22 hour flight I had. I soon realised the product couldn't be put on your face like a moisturiser because it is way too greasy, shiny, and sticky.
The product is great though to use on small dry patches on your face, lips, dry nose during a cold, on my nails and feet - but I will put the product on during the night when nobody can see these 'shiny' spots. Also, I had a burn mark on my hand from cooking, and I could have sworn the burn healed quicker due to regular application of this product.
Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream by ganzerella ,Nov 09 '08
Pros: None I can think of Cons: The smell is horrible and permeates the room...disturbing product.
Ladies, it smells horrible! It reminds me of preparation H! Perhaps you could us a little as a cuticle softener on your feet but seriously, this is the worst smelling cream ever and I use Elizabeth Arden products all the time. They really missed the boat on this one. Don´t waste your money.
