Pros: Health spa, historical, grounds, dining room. Cons: Prices, location, lack of information in the rooms
After months of way too many work hours and too little time with my husband, we decided to take one night for the two of us to truly be able to relax and get back to just one another.
The Elms is located about an hour away from us, far enough...
Pros: Beautiful surroundings Cons: You won't get what you pay for.
Our stay was very disappointing. The Elms had just switched management when we went there. We were booked to stay two nights and we ended up coming home after just one night. The reasons were several. The overall appearance of the hotel was not clean. ...
Pros: Beautiful hotel and surrounding grounds. Cons: The Elms is overrated and too expensive for what you get. Staff needs more training.
We stayed at The Elms April 5th and 6th. We chose the Elms Resort and Spa because I had heard so much about the renovations and all that had been updated at the hotel. I used to go swimming at The Elms when I was a child and had great memories. I...
Pros: It's clean enough and most of the staff is friendly. Cons: It's just not outstanding. I would compare to a Holiday Inn Express standard.
We spent a recent Saturday at the Elms and booked a package. Room, couples massage, wine, and dinner for two. When we arrived we were disappointed with our room but thought the rest of the package would make up for that. The room was clean and, well, ...
Pros: Pet friendly and close to the Kansas City area. Cons: Dirty and overpriced. Instead of "historic" I would call this property "dilapitaed".
Despite the "review" below by the hotel's manager, Keith Winge (kwinge), we were not at all happy with our stay here. Our reservations were "lost" upon our arrival and we were informed that the $79.00 rate we book on line was no longer available. ...
Pros: The spa services are terrific. Cons: The hotel itself is seedy and rundown. The rooms are filthy.
I just returned from my first visit to The Elms, which is a recently-renovated hotel/spa in the Kansas City area. I had 5 services at the spa, and spent 2 nights at the hotel. Check-in was a little confused, as we started to think they didn't have our...
Pros: Great staff, clean and a great getaway. Cons: More evening activities but it was the Thanksgiving Holiday.
I hadn't been to The Elms in many years and my experience wasn't the best. I recently visited for Thanksgiving and had a very different experience - a great one. The front desk staff was polite and informative. The lobby was beautiful with at least 10 Christmas trees. The room was clean and the staff friendly. We used the spa and had a heavenly experience - our therapist was great and wiped away the stress of the holidays. It was truly a great experience all around.
