Pros: ENERGY EFFICENT, COMPACT, ECONOMICAL, RUNS ON 110/120 VOLTAGE Cons: VERY SMALL, DOUBLE THE DRYING TIME AS A MACHINE RUNNING ON A 220 VOLTAGE.
THIS COMPACT COMBINATION WASHER/DRYER IS NOT MADE FOR A STANDARD FAMILY. IT IS GREAT FOR APARTMENTS OR OTHER SPACE FRIENDLY PLACES AND SINGLES/COUPLES WOULD BE THE BEST CANDIDATES FOR PURCHASING THIS ITEM. IT WORKS GREAT, HIGHLY ECONOMICAL TO RUN, USES ...

I Wanted to Like It but....
by redptcruiser ,Nov 24 '06
Pros: It fits down my narrow basement stairs Cons: Frequent breakdowns, unavailability of parts.
Neat little machine when it's not waiting to be repaired. I love the idea of the combination washer-dryer in one compact unit, but unfortunately even small loads take hours to dry, we've had to resort to using a clothes drying rack. It has been serviced at least 8 times, this time it's been out of service for two months waiting for parts

AWAY FROM THIS MACHINE
by dongshin ,Mar 20 '07
Pros: CHEAP Cons: VERY UNRELIABLE. WORKING POOR. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY.
I got this machine Jan 23 2006, and I started use it from Mar 2006, since I was moving out.
After I used this machine for 5 months, it broke.
It didn't spin, so they setup local technician to fix it.
Everytime, the technician should call them and approve something. It took almost two months to fix it. After 3 months later, it didn't work at all. The machine was out of warranty, and they didn't want to deal with it anymore. They just gave the number of the local technician who fixed the machine last time. The technician came to my home again, he told me it would cost $400, and he suggested to buy new stackable washer and dryer. He also said other people who bought this Equator machine have lots lots of complaints. I will finally throw it away.

A high quality ship's anchor.
by marinskym ,Sep 15 '06
Pros: It is back at the appliance store. Cons: Everything else.
My Equator broke for the fifth time in less than 11 months, and the factory basically abandoned it. It took a minimum of two weeks, with an average of three weeks, to fix it each time! Each time it was broken, I went to the laundromat.
I finally got the appliance store to exchange it for something else, but that was like pulling teeth.
It needed a new blower, blower motor, pump, and THREE heating elements. The first time it broke, some wires smoldered, and gave off smoke.
STAY AWAY!!

Crap products... Crap service... Crap company
by lswank ,Apr 28 '06
Pros: very cool attributes if it works. Cons: Breaks down FAST, NO customer service, unethical company
I've purchased three machines for different condos that I have rehabbed. Two out of the three completely broke down within 6 weeks of purchase. It took over 4 months to finally get Equator to fix them. It took another 4 weeks for one "fixed" machine to completely fail again. The unit that has not broken down yet only gets used two or three times a month because the owner travels extensively.
I would not even CONSIDER purchasing anything further from this company. Nice looking product, great if it actually worked... but they are in Chapter 11 (thankfully) and will have to stop selling a poor quality product to consumers.

I will be NEWER purchase
by ice001 ,Mar 03 '06
Pros: good conception - poor service Cons: NEWER purchase anything from Equator – no customer service , totally unethical!
I purchased this laundry machine in October 2005 with warranty. Unfortunately, the machine wasnt working properly since. Customer representatives from Equator NEVER re turn calls, there is no way to talk with somebody to solve problem. They simply ignore problem for more then 4 month. I cant believe!
If I will be know I will be NEWER purchase anything from Equator no customer service , totally unethical!

Same crap, different model number
by fafafouy ,Jul 18 '06
Pros: When it worked it was fairly quiet and smooth. Cons: Too many to mention in 15 words. DON'T BUY THIS UNIT!!!
I wrote a review of the Equator 1612V and my horrible experiences with it. After months of battling and getting an attorney involved, I received my replacement 1710 machine from Equator. The machine worked pretty well and seemed to be more balanced than the prior model (when it was working of course) but after only six months, this unit had a major failure that Equator will not repair.
Trust this: If you buy an Equator washer/dryer and plan to actually use it, it WILL BREAK. And when it does, get ready for some of the worst customer service you have ever experienced. How this company is still in business, I will never understand.
