Pros: works really well with long-haired pets, Cons: nowhere to store the hose
I recently purchased this small canister vacuum because with 3 long haired dogs, dog hair is always everywhere. After trying a couple other upright vacuums to no avail, I decided to try a small canister one. Afterall, the upright vacuums require me to ...
Pros: Light weight Cons: Limited ability to really produce a good suction
I recently moved into a condo. I scaled down everything including my vacuum cleaners, giving away my big Electrolux canister . I've had the Shark canister and went looking for that . No luck so after talking over my options with the manager at Bed ...
Pros: Light weight and great bang (or suck) for the money. Cons: Nowhere to store hose.
We had a Dirt Devil LiteRider, or something like that, and it just wasn't cutting it on our hardwood floors. The upright was powerful enough to pick up almost anything on the carpeted areas, but on the hardwood areas, it was throwing dirt back. After a ...
Pros: QUIET motor, compact/lightweight design! Cons: Vacuum hose is a bit long.
Back in December of 2002 I was in the market for a new vacuum. The old upright I had was just not up to par. The house I am living in has vinyl flooring, carpeting, a woodburner and many nooks and crannies. I decided a canister vacuum was a ...
Pros: Great suction, easy to use, lightweight Cons: No place to store the all-purpose tool
This was the canister vacuum I had purchased to replace my ever-famous Eureka SuperBroom (you may refer to my SuperBroom review-http://www.epinions.com/content_53480033924).
Pros: Very light and small. Easy to use. Big suction. Cons: can't think of any...
I have an upright Dirty Devil that is so big and heavy, that I used to vacuum just once a month. We also have stairs and vacuum it with the upright was a big pain. Since I'm allergic to dust, this once a month vacuuming was not doing it, so I decided to ...
Pros: easy to use, long hose, easy to empty Cons: none
Being an employee at one of Maryland and Howard County's finest bakeries, I decided that our shop needed a vacuum that wasn't a ShopVac, but wasn't a DustBuster. Low and behold, there was the Eureka mighty mite. Our storefront was a cafe type area, in ...
Buy something else - we returned this Eureka after one frustrating use by bostonbeans ,Feb 28 '07
Pros: Quiet motor, great suction, large dirt bag Cons: Poor design - very difficult to use, easily broken plastic, too heavy metal wand. Frustration.
This Eureka is almost impossible to use because the floor tool has little wheels that allow it to go in one direction only. Back and forth cleaning is fine, but side to side movement (such as on stairs, in corners, under furniture, around table/chair legs, etc.) is not doable. The heavy metal wand has a rotating suction collar that is constantly moving out of position, so all the suction power is lost. The little wheel under the canister is useless, so the vacuum is falling over on itself whenever it's moved. The 20' cord is great, but with no automatic rewind, you're often tripping over the cord. Save your time and money -- buy something else!!
Pros: small, convenient, powerful suction Cons: a bit loud, no round brush
We recently purchased the Eureka Mighty Mite (Mini) vacuum and boy oh boy does this thing clean! We needed a replacement / additional vacuum to replace an older and heavy canister vacuum. We have read reviews on the Eureka Mighty Mite and they are positive.
The MM (Mini) is small but its suction is very strong. It has a 9 amp motor and uses disposable paper bags. It also has two micro filters which can be periodically cleaned and replaced. Storage of this machine is almost a non-issue, it is tiny!
The MM comes with a crevice tool and a floor attachment for the wand. It uses a simple wind-up power cord and two large side wheels provide easy maneuverability. The bags are small (to fit this tiny machine) and cost approximately $4.00 (Canadian) for a pack of three.
So far the machine is super light, very powerful, and works like a larger machine.
Pros: Excellent suction, value, and very durable. Cons: None really - no retractable cord or attachment storage due to compact size.
We had one for many years, or the wife had it long before we married till it finally gave up the ghost. We recently purchased a Mini Mite replacement and I was very disappointed in it. Wish I could have added my two cents before she bought it.
The Mighty Mite lives up to the name, and is the best value for this price range that I am aware for a small canister vacuum. I heartily second all the other reviews on this product, It may weigh a bit more, but is a much better traveler across floors and carpets than the Mini Mite, which you have to drag across floors usually on its' side. The suction as mentioned is excellent and will even pick up marbles.
Good attachments and heavier quality than the Mini Mite.
So don't hold back on that extra $20 thinking the Mini Mite will save you money. You'll spend it on extra bags that clog too quickly versus the Mighty Mite that will hold a lot more dirt and provide a more resilient airflow with the bigger bag.
One of the best vacuums I have ever owned! by domino8 ,Jul 02 '08
Pros: Good suction, never seems to die, replacement parts easy to find. Cons: Bags can be difficult to find sometimes, hose could be bigger diameter.
I have owned this vacuum for about 10 years now. It only has an 8 amp motor, but it sucks very well. I used it to suck up plaster, drywall dust, and pretty much everything that I see on the floor. I have beat this machine over and over again, but it just won't die. It will suck up just about anything with a new bag inside. This is the only vacuum I use (besides a shop vac), since I just have hardwood floors. It also works good on some carpet and rugs (berber, short shag, etc.) I recently broke the wheel on this vacuum, and it was very easy to find a replacement. I have also bought several accessories for this vacuum, which were very easy to find. Excellent vac! I can't wait to check out the 12 amp version of this vacuum!
Pros: Great suction. Cons: A little awkward to use.
I purchased this vacuum after reading all the reviews on Epinions.com and Amazon.com. As soon as I got the vacuum cleaner, I put it together and vacuumed my living room and our two bedrooms. I then opened the canister and removed the bag. The bag was completely full. This little vacuum cleaner has powerful suction. Our old vacuum was an upright that has to be at least 30 years old. I cannot believe how much dirt and dust got picked up in comparison with our old vacuum. The only problem I have is where to store the attachments; also the vacuum can be a little awkward to use.
