We have 3 dogs who are constantly shedding on our 20 year old carpet. I was ready to rip out the carpet and replace it with tile when we bought the Eureka 4880d. This vacuum is amazing. I can hardly believe the amount of dog hair and dirt this is able to pull out. The carpet may have a few more years left in it. Very happy with this purchase.

Vacuum Power


My wife and I bought this vacuum cleaner right after we moved in together. It's suction is so incredible that we have to clean out the dust-bin after every two uses. While this shows how well the cleaner is able to pick up every fiber in the house, it also highlights that the dust cup is a bit too small.





User Friendliness


For how powerful the suction is on this vacuum cleaner, there are times where it becomes unweildy on rugs and hardwood. Make sure that anything you don't want caught up in this Wizard of Oz tornado is either nailed down or well out of reach.



The only other main challeng is the fact that the switches between hardwood and carpet and the height of the carpet are stiff and difficult to change. My wife can't change them and I have trouble moving them myself.
