Pros: Cheap and easy to clean. Cons: break easily and are heavy for baby to hold
While I was pregnant, I decided I was going to bottle feed, and I went out and spent a ridiculous amount of money on all the fancy bottles and nipples on the market. Well when my daughter was born, she wouldn't drink from any except the Gerber clear...
Pros: Durable easy to clean in a dishwasher and easy to heat the milk. Cons: glass is a bit heavy for a toddler to carry around
When it comes to glass, I'm always worried about breakage. These bottles have been around for years, and even though I did drop on once, it safely landed on top of my foot. (((OUCH))) Let me tell you, after having one hit, you will be extra careful...
Pros: Safe (chemical wise), easier to heat and clean Cons: not practical when baby starts to hold the bottle
I have read several articles stating that clear plastic bottles leak chemicals into the milk when heated that's why I chose glass bottles. I called manufacturers of plastic bottles and they said that the polycarbonate bottles are safe but since I am a...
Pros: Easy to sterilize. Easy to clean. Cheap. Plain and simple. Cons: None, really - unless you are seriously paranoid.
OK, first things first. These bottles ARE glass. Yes, glass breaks - but in all the history of bottle-feeding, few to no infants ever actually DIED from cutting themselves on a broken or chipped glass bottles. Life is dangerous - welcome to the real ...
Pros: Easy to maintain; durable Cons: Can break and heavy bottle might hurt baby if it falls on the child
These are my favorite bottles for my baby girl. Just give me good, old fashioned glass. By God, it was good enough for Grampa and it's good enough for my kid! Go ahead and keep those wimpy little plastic bottles with cute pictures of Winnie the Pooh and...
Pros: Cheap, thick glass, not plastic, environmentally friendly, sterilizing is great (durable) Cons: Glass can break (of course), latex nipples, heavy
With a lot of controversy surrounding plastic baby bottles (and plastics involved with food storage), I started looking for alternatives. I originally started using non-breakable plastic bottles, including Dr. Browns. Although the controversy is ...
Pros: VERY safe products (mostly) Cons: hafta pay VERY close attention to the minor details of them.
I have to admit, that Evenflo is an awesome company, and they make really amazing products, and their bottles aren't any different. Although I must warn you that when I bought my baby one of them, it came with a couple extra nipples, and 1 of them had a...

When my oldest son was able to use bottles, we used the Playtex Nursers with him because of all the extra precautions we needed to take because of his health problems. We figured that the Playtex Nursers were a better guarantee when it...
Pros: cleans better, safer to heat milk in, heats better, nipple and rim seals tightly, cap locks on, travels well Cons: BREAKABLE-RISK OF INJURY
In The Beginning
Although I love Evenflo bottles, I never felt too safe allowing my son to use the Evenflo Glass Nursers. That is why I only used the four ounce size and did so only until my son could start holding his own...
Pros: Durable, less to worry about chemically Cons: Heavy
I don't love these bottles, but I like them enough to keep using them due to the BPA scare. I received 16 four ounce bottles and 12 eight ounce bottles as a gift, so I don't know how much they were. I have dropped them in the sink and the linoleum ...
Pros: Kept warm milk warm longer Cons: breaks/chips..dangerous for your child
The Evenflo Glass Bottle. I Have used this bottle for my first child, now 10 years old(uggh,I am old),and find it to have both good and bad sides.
First, the good thing about this bottle,is that it is easy to clean/sterilize. It keeps the warmth in...
Pros: Aesthetically pleasing and limit exposure to toxins from plastics. Cons: The nipples need to be replaced.
I am concerned about plastics and xenoestrogens in my baby's life. Baby bottles are particularly worrisome since they are refrigerated and heated. These glass bottles are wonderful, and completely safe. I haven't had any break. While I would never leave my baby alone with a glass bottle, at 4 months, she enjoys holding it up with minimal assistance. As a little extra perk, they are aesthetically pleasing.
One tip: The nipples that come with them are useless. They have a terrible rubber smell. Evenflo makes the same ones in silicone, and they work pretty well but tend to collapse with vigorous sucking. Removing it from the baby's mouth for a second solves this. Alternatively, if you happen to have Dr. Brown bottles as well, the inserts from the 4 oz. (without the tube but with the yellow bit) fit and work perfectly on the 4 oz. Evenflo. Perhaps the 8 oz. will take the tube too.
Great Plastic Alternative by organicmama ,Oct 26 '06
Pros: No leaching chemicals. Easy to clean and disinfect. Cheaper than plastic, last longer. Doesn't leak. Cons: Might break, but surprisingly difficult to do so. Hard to find.
I bought these glass bottles for my son after reading about the potentially harmful effects of the chemicals in most plastic/polycarbonate baby bottles. These chemicals can leach, especially when the bottles are heated. I find the glass bottles easy to clean, last forever, and don't scratch or leak. My son has dropped them onto our hard wood floors and they haven't broken. One did break when it was thrown onto our ceramic tile floor from about 6 feet high.
They're also economical. Three bottles have lasted me nearly three years, and I just had to buy replacement nipples a couple of times.
Glass Bottles That Are Safer and Not Slippery by carolinamom05 ,Jul 23 '08
Pros: Silikids bottles are not slippery, lessens worries about breakage Cons: you pay more, but its worth every penny for safety.
I love glass bottles, but in the back of my mind I was always worried about them slipping and breaking.
BUT I found glass bottles at silikids.com that have a colorful silicon sleeve on the outside to keep them from being slippery. I think it might protect them a little from breakage too. I put them in the microwave, dishwasher etc. We just graduated from the 4oz'ers to the 8oz size. They cost a little more than the reg glass bottles, but to erase one worry from my list it was worth it.
