Pros: Great software, quick, small footprint Cons: No Twain
I've read so many things about this scanner, it almost seemed too good to be true. But, after a month of use, I can confirm it is incredible! My wife uses a Kodak scanner at her office and loves it. The insurance company where she works has gone ...
Pros: Speed, Simplicity, Realiability, Automatic Document Scanner Cons: Not "Twain" compliant, User Interface of included software could be improved
MY EXPERIENCE The digital age has ushered in the ability to easily store digital images of our pictures to a PC, CD or DVD. But what do you do with the years of pictures before the digital camera? For me, I started looking at options to scan ...

The Fujitsu ScanSnap 510 has made the concept of the paperless office a very practical reality for my business with its refreshingly fast multi-page scanning speed, more than adequate image quality, automatic blank page skipping and freedom from paper ...
Pros: easy to use and small. well worth the price! Cons: can't fax directly from the scanner, with efax you can send a digital file.
This thing is awsome. All I have to do is put my paper into the auto feeder and press the green button. It turns them all into a PDF right on my computer! It recognizes if it is in color and makes the PDF color. And it's fast, like 18 pages per minute and it scans both sides at the same time. It ships with a full version of Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Standard (that's worth about $299 by itself) and OCR software that actually works!
I bought the ScanSnap to finally get rid of paper, my multi funtion device and fax machine in my office and couldn't be happier.
Pros: Scans to PDF at the touch of a button Cons: Mulit-page documents always get stuck together
The paper handling capabilities are weak. I bought the unit so that I could scan multiple pages.. They always come out stuck together. The only way that I can get this thing to work is to scan 1 page at a time, save 1 page at a time and then combine the pages with adobe.
The same document placed in my Brother fax machine feeds just fine. Somehow they have not figured out the paper handling propertly.
So what I purchased as a time saver was a time waster.. Wasted time ordering, and setting up.. Wasted money on the product.. Wasted more time trying to get it to work right..
